I really want reincarnation to be real..
I remember learning that you're supposed to be reunited with all your family still in your next life, just in different roles.. so you could end up being the mother to your siblings and things it was quite an interesting view I am terrified of death absolutely terrified, i'm not religious at all, but just comprehending, thats it nothing, blackness, just nothing for ETERNITY, really upsets me |

There are a few major plot-holes when it comes to reincarnation.
It doesn't answer where souls originally come from or where they go to eventually, or if they continually reincarnate, then who set that in motion. Since there are more people born than die, that means that there has to be a continued new supply of souls. So why no use fresh souls for all the bodies. Also what's the point to reincarnation, like so what if we become more enlightened as spiritual beings, if there is a godlike-being responsible for our journeys through multiple lives, then wouldn't that same godlike-being be able to make us as enlightened beings from the start rather than as these blank slate souls. It would save the god-like being a lot of effort. I believe the idea of nothingness is terrifying to most people, that's what leads to this magical thinking. It could even explain the popularity of religions. Quote:

Personally I find the idea of eternity horrifying, and oblivion quite comforting. In other words - I simply cannot be arsed existing forever! No thanks! One day, I'd like to just be gone. That said I do think it's a bit on the short side, this "life" business. I'd like maybe 200 - 300 years, ideally. |

Not gonna lie, I'm scared of death - scared of dying and the feeling of knowing your life is slipping away from you and there's nothing you can do about it. Nobody knows if you can really have a painless death because nobody alive has ever experienced it. Sometimes I will just lie in bed and night have that familiar realisation that one day I WILL die and there's nothing I can do about it. I'd like to think that there's something after death, that you have some sort of knowledge and go onto another place, with an understanding of what life itself is, but who knows? I find it almost exciting and terrifying at the same time. I think a lot of stories have been made to make humanity feel better about death and because a lot of it has been wrapped in the cotton wool of religion, it makes it all more believable. One of the many theories out there is right - but which one? I hope one day I'll find out (although if it's Hell, then nah I'll just become a speck of dust in space thanks. :P )

Almost all of the kinds of life after death scare the hell out of me. The God from the bible sounds like like an asshole, so i don't wanna be in heaven with him and his followers, and reincarnation scares the crap out of me cause what are the chances i'd be reincarnated back in America? I'd probably end up in some 3rd world country.
The only way i would like life after death is if i get to be a ghost and just hang around the world for eternity watching life like a fly on the wall, i think that would be fun. But i'm pretty sure you just don't exist, like you said it's just like before you were born.

Being a ghost would be great, just think of all the places you could sneak into that you'd never be able to see in life!

If you bother to understand the amazing coincidence and random organised chaos that produced life on this very rock its not too hard to work out that life is what we have now and that after the brain dies and the heart stops there is nothing but decay and oblivion.
