We are aiding to ensure the virus is contained, that is far more proactive than closing borders for me.
Yes UK charities are important of course they are, I highly doubt though anyone would forgo donating to their chosen charity this winter due to the fact they bought Sir Bobs charity single.

about the same amount as all the deaths in this outbreak, next week the road deaths in china will be double that of ebola

I've seen a couple of pics of people with it, it's truly horrific. And I know there are thousands dying from it, however I believe there are millions who die globally from alcoholism. Where is the media hysteria for that?

No, these charity singles seem to be more about who's on it than the actual cause. Plus it's impossible to say how much of the money raised will actually reach the victims.
