Marc, because even though he's sometimes abrasive he can admit he has faults. Danny on the other hand is sly and a back stabber. How many times has he, in the guise of meaning to give good advice, tried to slip the knife in another housemates ribs.
He didn't have the balls to stand up to Marc until bellend brian came into the house and tried to get the public onside by going for Helen and Marc. Danny may be thick, but he mixes with a lot of reality players and knows what's what. So if he attacks Helen and Marc too, he thinks he too will become popular with the public.

The problem with these 2 is that Marc is far more intelligent than Danny who didn't even know how to spell canoe, so when they argue it's not really a fair fight. Danny just reverts to telling people to shut up in the same way Brian just throws around a few swear words and storms off because they can't constructively argue their points
