I don't remember the actual vid, but it may be possible he said 2 things and they were spliced together. Though...with the back to the wall thing he must have realistically been on about gay people regardless. he just may not have said it about 'coping'

He seems like someone who says a lot of stuff without thinking, as such he may well not remember actually saying that. Not that this is an excuse.

Why has noone showed him the vid yet

"backs against the wall" was a common tv joke in the 70s and 80s when a gay guy came on shot

No, only the ones that use the excuse of religion to be bigots. Not every religious person is a homophobe.
