To be fair, there's no way they could have topped last years conference, lol.

If they dropped an update on FFVII and Shenmue it would have come close.

Hell, rejigging the order of the games they showed would have been enough. I'd have put God of War at the end, ending it on a game that no one really cared about was a misstep.

There's a rumour floating about the Sony conference was supposed to end with a Red Dead Redemption sequel announcement, but due to a scene in the trailer involving a shooting, they decided to remove it last minute.

While I'm not sure if I buy that, I do feel like the end of the conference was very strange, and felt like something had been pulled. Apparently we'll see the trailer June 19th if this rumour is true, so not long to wait.

Overall I thought it was a solid year, I'd say Microsoft's showing was better, I'm very interested in Sea of Thieves, We Happy Few, Halo Wars 2 and Recore, and most of their other stuff was interesting, plus the Xbox One S looks so sleek! I was hoping for an announcement of Xbox Live going free but beggars can't be choosers.

Sony has a very nice showing, just quite poorly paced. The opening was the first time I've ever cared about God of War, Horizon looked phenomenal, and Days Gone showed potential (even if I was bored by it by the end of the demo). I feel like all three of these suffered a bit due to the fact they all shared some mechanical similarities. The VR stuff was a bit of a slump, and the Crash announcement fell very flat for me unfortunately. I reckon we will get a better show from them at Gamescom in all honesty.

Nintendo brought Zelda and Zelda looks incredible. But it just makes me more rabid for the NX announcement, so I'm holding a lot of excitement back until then.

EA were godawful, one of the worst shows in years. Not even comically bad, just terrible.

Bethesda made me care about Dishonoured, I am also looking forward to seeing more of Prey and Quake, plus hearing they are working on Fallout 4 VR is great news!

Ubisoft were alright, I'm intrigued by Trials of the Blood Dragon, the Star Trek VR game, Watch_Dogs 2 to a degree and South Park. The snowboarding game was a really poor ending, unfortunately. Beyond Good & Evil 2 missing in action again, I assume because it's NX exclusive.

E3 has now ended, this year wasn't overly exciting, felt kind of a in between year, I'm hoping next year we see more games. But its not long til Gamescom and TGS, and then, of course the 'Winter E3' with VGA and PS Experience.

Kinda bland all in all, definitely a major step down from last year.

I'm surprised that EA didn't show off anything of substance with Mass Effect, given its meant to be out in less than a year.

One of many misteps tbh.

I think I only truly enjoyed Ubi's presentation this year. Sony's had some great points but was let down by a lack of interesting reveals outside of RE, a tepid ending and no updates on Shenmue and FFVII.

I think VII wasnt shown due to Square Enix wanting to focus on FFXV publicity. For Shenmue, I don't think they have anything of proper substance to show yet. I think we can expect more from FFVII Remake around TGS or PSX.

I think they could have focused on XV and still showed something FFVII related. They could have just shown the bar scene when you meet Tifa or the first Church scene with Aerith and that would have been enough to create hype.

True, but with XV being out in 3 months, Square's gonna be focusing on VII Remake fully pretty soon. In years passed when E3 was THE event for everything they probably would have teased it, but with so many events throughout the year, they can save it til later.
