I think the words meaning has been altered in certain circles, just cos someone is black it doesnt mean they deserve to be called that word, but the word is now intended to mean the type that will stab/shoot/smoke crack etc.
Its hard to avoid the word sometimes in music and videos, I'm sure the word has slipped out of my mouth when rapping along to "straight outta compton" and one time my black mate Mike told me off for it, that made me consider the words real meaning and the offence it can cause.
Ive got too much respect for black people to use the word but its not easy.....
this is easy.....

They should have made them hold a compulsory group discussion on the use of the word and what they thought about how and where it was used, though I can see some risk involved in this. Instead of this heavy-handed approach that is obviously wrong.

why do some people make out that been kicked out of the house is death sentence. people need to respect every race and realise there are some things you can't say. by the way has some of you watched the show where emily makes the remark because you lot seem to be sticking up for emily before it's aired. and before i go why do some people want to use the 'n ' word so badly anyway i'd be happy never to hear it again.

I'd be glad to have it put away in it's little history box too, but this will not happen as long as people perpetuate it and think they can use it and others can’t. Imagine a white person saying N to some of the rappers that use the N word all the time to their face, so much trouble would kick off.

She has been a silly little girl who isn't as clever as she thinks she is. It was a foolish thing to do, but were the HMs specifically warned about this issue before they entered.

No, because Emily directed it at someone and Charley's black anyway so she can hardly be racist about her own colour.

If the word is so offensive why are they going to show it since they are saying it will cause offence to the watchers?

You've missed the point. Emily was taken out because the of the word she used, not the context she used it in. Charley used the same word a week ago, and therefore, for the sake of equality, the context should be classed as irrelevant also. Ergo, Emily's punishment should have been shared with Charley.

I know exactly what you mean, people need to show more respect for them. I don't care what should have happenned and not what, the main thing is the whole thing's been dealt with proffessionally before mahem breaks out.

Can you think of any particular examples?

The records you're talking about are sold all over this country. Available to everyone from most record shops. If it's so wrong, it shouldnt be on sale.

There is a difference between Emily using the word, and Charley using the word.

Whether the word ****** is acceptable when being used by/among black people is a different debate.

whether it was double standards or not doesn't really matter, the important thing is that the way it was handled was appropiate considering the recent events in january
and how can a black person be racist by saying N*****, it just doesnt make sense, allthough i do understant how some people feel that it is double standards
