Probably continuing to work. I'd probably set up a business or two.

You don’t get to hide it, the press knows that someone in the area won and they will quickly identify who it was, they’ll then basically give you the offer of doing an interview for a nice fluffy piece, or if you refuse, they’ll dig dirt and publish a nasty one.

This is what happened when my friend’s mum won about 15 years ago anyway. Wasn’t even a “huge” jackpot - just over £1 million - but she didn’t want her friends and neighbours to know ... decision was taken out of her hands. And she did eventually lose some friends and had to move somewhere new. She lived on an ex-council estate but had no intention of moving, but got “othered” as soon as people on the street knew she now had money.

Actually friends of friends won the lottery as well around that time and they were told to go public as the press would find out, not sure now as winning is quite common place if that would happen for amounts of a million...

I think the thing is, national press and tabloids aren’t going to be interested and you’re probably fine in a large city, but if you live in a small-ish place... local press will definitely want to report on it, and even if only a few locals read that paper, it’s going to spread in a weekend by word of mouth as soon as that happens. Because it’s ONLY the biggest gossips who read the local paper

Honestly I’m not convinced things would be all that different day to day for me. Far less stressful because of eradicating any money stuff. But my day to day I feel like would be the same thing in a bigger/nicer house . I’d also have cleaners because I hate housework. We already have a gardener .

Biggest difference would be that my youngest who is likely to need lifelong care would be set for life - which is one of my biggest long term worries (what happens to her when we’re old/dead).

I would hate to win stupid amounts of money.
A couple of million would be easy enough to handle I suppose.
I would help family and friends out, especially my daughter.
Buy her a house and set up a trust for her.
Set up a trust for son as well in case he ends up divorced from his very rich wife.😊
Our own lifestyle wouldn’t alter at all as we are happy as we are.

Default I can’t even think of how

I honestly don’t know.
I think I’d have to employ people to tell me what to do and have one of those dog zapper collars on if I was like... nah just get me with an 8 ball and some hookers and JD
