That is what I understood, it wasn't his appearance on the picket line that got him sacked, it was what he said on TV, not sure what he said though

He was talking about how Labour would back workers.

Of Course,
Starmer is worried about the next election in a few years.

His Girlfriend is Angela Raynor
The Labour Deputy with no power.

BBC:
[Ilford South MP Sam Tarry attended the protest
at London's Euston station despite
Sir Keir telling his frontbench MPs to stay away.
Labour said the reason he was fired was for
unauthorised media appearances.

Mr Tarry said he had been standing
"in solidarity with striking workers"

"This isn't about appearing on a picket line.
Members of the front bench sign up
to collective responsibility.
That includes media appearances
being approved and speaking to agreed
frontbench positions.

"As a government in waiting, any breach
of collective responsibility is taken extremely
seriously and for these reasons Sam Tarry has
been removed from the front bench."

But the leaders of a number of unions have
criticised the party for the decision.

Sharon Graham, leader of Unite the Union,
which has more than a million members,
said Labour was "becoming more and more irrelevant
to ordinary working people".

The TSSA Transport Union, of which Mr Tarry
is a former member,
said Labour was "deluded" if it thought it could
win the next election "while pushing away
seven million trade union members".

This is to be frank ridiculous and petty from Starmer.

I'd prefer to KNOW what MPs of ALL Parties think and for them to be able to say what they think and feel too.
This collective responsibility is what is partly wrong with politics and government.
People shouldn't be made into robots to suit a Party line.

Did ANYONE really know Truss was against the NI increase until recently.
She was sent out on TV and defended it as the only way to fund the NHS.

Yet she claims she was against it all along while unbelievably voting for it however.

It's plain deceitful to impose on people that they MUST not express their own views and feelings

Starmer is being equally so.
He's not saying what he feels.
He KNOWS these strikes are justified as do most of the Shadow Cabinet too.
Sam said what he thought and he should be able to.

Starmer however knows the strikes are justified and the workers need support.
Yet he fudges his own real views and expects everyone else to follow his ridiculous line.

This is to me what's wrong in politics in a big way.
How can we trust or why should we trust anyone who is NOT able to say what they think.
Starmer is wrong ,wrong ,wrong on this.

He should have perhaps said Sam wasn't wise to express his own feelings.
However NOT to sack him.
I'm totally dismayed with Starmer.
He has a pretty good team around him but this pathetic dictatorial attitude he's developing as to stifling individuals being able to express their views..
Or to go and support workers in disputes.
Is a shocking look for Labour.

If Starmer will act like this to a man supporting workers rights.
Then maybe Starmer needs to look at his own position.

Or maybe Starmer doesn't like people being free to express their views and prefers to be like Johnson, to only have, yes Sir, yes Sir, three bags full Sir, people around him.

Sam is owed a massive apology and Starmer needs to do a u turn on this sacking.
If he doesn't, that says nothing positive about Starmer.
Fudging the issues of these strikes as Starmer is doing is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable

Starmer
is going to the Next Election
like a New Labour Prime Minister.

He thinks the Blair way
is the only way into 10 Downing Street.

He was well aware Starmer would have no choice but to sack him so it was a deliberate cynical ploy imo

it's amusing really. Labour are just as split as the tories on the way forward, but instead of keeping their mouths shut and capitalising on the tory mess, they have hit the headlines with their own mess. Any hope that Starmer would win the next election becomes less likely each day. Given that Angela is in a relationship with Tarry, its inevitable that there is going to be a big split now between the leader and deputy

This isn't true, bots.

Within 2000 votes of forming a government in 17, and the recently released Forde report (at starmers instruction) explains that the labour right were actively holding money away from close races to keep their own party out of government, and his policies are still overwhelmingly popular, but the right wing media smears and brexit killed him in 19.

We have a group of people known as "the greatest generation" in this country, and when they came back from the horrors of WWII, they chose a Corbyn type party, which resulted in the NHS, a welfare state, access to education for working class people, and wages that could support families.

The problem in this country is the media relationship with the tory party, and the lengths they're willing to go to protect it.

I could just about be led to believe that no matter the public presentation they desperately want to, that possibly really neither of the 2 main Parties actually DO want to win the next election.

Starmer is intelligent enough to know, this was only likely to portray Labour in a negative.
Yet didn't seem to consider that.

What's he going to do if alien like Truss does bring in legislation against Unions and rights as present to strike .
He'll have to oppose it but in what relevant and convincing way.

I wasn't born in 1979, however all my studies brought me to think Thatcher was right in her industrial relations reforns and curbing the power of the Unions at that time.

However by the end I would conclude myself she'd gone a bit too far.

Subsequent years after her with the rising inequalities there are now.
I think too much has been taken from the Unions now.

If Truss takes the UK down a route to please the rabid right wing media, I can see much greater chaos looming from that extreme policy.

However where will it leave Starmer?
Because action and much more passion will be needed to fight that.
Not just cleverly worded, near non confrontational or vaguely detailed scripting.
