Whichever way you slice it, the facts are this.

1. Chantelle gave an interview shortly before she and Preston. She lied in that interview and said that they were not having problems, and that the press rumours that they were, were all lies. She got paid for that interview - therefore, she got paid for telling lies.

2. Her fans paid to buy the magazine to read that interview, so they basically shelled out money to read her lies.

3. She claims to be devastated by the break up. Hmmm....yet, she is giving an interview about it, which she is being paid for. Not so devastated that she isn't prepared to make money off the back of her relationship breakdown.

No doubt her fans will say that she lied initially because she didn't want to discuss the marriage problems. Fine. So why not just NOT do the interview? Why give an interview and lie? If you don't want to talk about something, then don't talk about it, but PLEASE don't lie about it. But of course, if she hadn't have done the interview, she wouldn't have made any money from it, would she?

It's distasteful enough selling your wedding to a gossip rag (I know they aren't the first to do this), but to sell your story about the break up, whilst claiming to be devastated, is in extremely bad taste. As upset as she is claiming to be, she's happy to pose in all the designer gear, all dolled up to the nines. Excuse me for being cynical

I always thought Chantelle seemed a nice girl - although I was, and still am, at a loss to explain her popularity, seeing as she basically does nothing. This has changed my opinion of her completely. She has lied to her fans and duped them.

As for Preston, I still consider him to be a complete plank who is in danger of disappearing up his own backside. But at least he has maintained a silence on the issue. Of course, that could be because he's knobbing Camille again (just a hunch, but I bet you he's back with Camille by the end of the year, if he isn't already).

I just wish that Buzzcocks was still on.

Don't make out that I'm the reason you left, because thats just stupid. When you did leave I wrote in your thread 'aw dont leave' or something.

If you read the latest interview, she admits that when she gave her last interview, she was beign untruthful when she said that they weren't having problems. I wasn't referring to the lies she told at the Baftas.

It's obvious that people have strong opinions on this but please try and respect each others views.
I've made no secret that I'm a fan of these two and was upset about the break up just because I saw (even if others didn't) something genuine between them.
I do however take on board Ruth's comments about the interview she gave before.
I understand why she said things were fine between them to give them some space to handle things and maybe sort things out.I do think though that all she did as far as people that support are concerned is give them false hope.
I don't think though we were duped into buying lies as it's our choice and our money we waste buying the interviews.I honestly believe that she thought they could work things out given some time and I still have hope for that now.
No matter who or when they do another interview I'l still buy it and if that makes me stupid then oh well
I just hope that they get through their problems and have enjoyed showing them support and will continue to do so.

Rachb, I accept that obviously we're all free to spend our money on whatever we want, but I would be miffed if I spent money on a magazine because there was an interview in it with someone I liked, only to find out that they were being untruthful.
