I didn’t even know that we owned the Chagos Islands. What was we using it for exactly?

But those from the Chagos Islands
in the UK have been demanding
this for 10 years.

…excellent for the people of the Chagos Islands, this has been disputed for many years…UK and US have kept jurisdiction of the military base which I guess is their only interest there…whereas for many it’s a home and a life…
