i'm old enough to remember Mandelson when he was best mates with Tony Blair and everyone knew he was a bad un then .... that's probably 30 years ago now

Prince Andrew became a pariah overnight and consequently, was not only expelled as a working royal but, despite being a war hero, was not allowed to wear his uniform for his mother's lying in state. Meanwhile Mandelson was appointed British Ambassador to the USA. Seems like a strange imbalance there

He should never have been appointed.
He's always had baggage over his career in politics.

However dealing with Trump, it seems he would get on well with Trump.
They seem possibly more suited.

I've never liked Mandelson.
It was a really bad idea to put him in this job, from his past ventures there was always likely to be issues arising as to him.

everyone knew what he was like. I think some donor put pressure on Starmer to appoint him, why else would someone with such a proven flawed character be appointed when there are far more suitable candidates around
