We have spoken about this endlessly in college

The world goes through this anyway the temperatures rise and plummet over a period of time.. so whether we contributed or not the earth would be doing this anyway. the difference is that we are making the process speed up slightly so really all we can do is slow the process down not stop it or put it into reverse...
remember its not the earth we need so save its ourselves and the wildlife we live with!

In school, teachers tell us that yes, it is due to us, and that if we don't stop soon, we'll all be dead in 500 years. *le sigh* Ok, maybe not that extreme, but it's along those lines...

But my dad tells me that our planet goes through cycles anyway, just like the ice age was a cold cycle, then the planet warmed up again. I think that makes a lot more sense, but I still think we add a little to the process...

Yes the world goes through cycles , but the difference is last time we had a global warming their was not a human civilisation to destroy , and their was no human civilisation to accelerate the process.

besides , you dont need an excuse to be nice to the environment either way. Some of the views in this thread are just plain ignorant

climate change has been happing in cycles for hundreds of years. and yes the cycle at the moment is heating up insetd of cooling down

fact... when Shakespeare was alive the themes was frozen and then the age of mammals was according after the dinosaurs the uk/half joint with France during the grate floods the uk was a huge dessert and the medraten wasn't a sea but was a dessert.

everything on earth is a cycle .. days months years .. seasons ... and you guessed it climate change

and it is a huge pet hate of mine when people refer to climate change as global warming, when global warming is only in the earth cycle.

further more i believe the government is just trying to cause a moral panic of global warming and stop using petrol and gasses as an excuse to stop developing countries developing.

also the funny side is that iv done a whole essay on my argument 2000 words and 2000 words of research 4000 in total . so i would go more in depth but it would take too long.

but i know alot about this subjet

I have seen some evidence to suggest it is an exclusively man made phenomena, and others showing it has nothing to do with man made CO2 emissions at all.

I'd tend to believe that we do influence carbon emissions but not nearly as much as we are led to believe by the media.

I've seen lots of evidence for example that shows it is actually changes occurring inside the sun that is causing the change and that this has happened on a cycle (which can easily be predicted) for thousands of years. Also that volcanoes and rotting vegetation actually contribute more to Co2 emissions than all man made sources combined.

There is also the points many scientists make, that Co2 is not one of the most important greenhouse agents. Gasses for example trap far less heat than the most important green house agent- water vapour, without which the earth would completely freeze over…
