I think I would like the show to end when its contract is over in 2011, then to see it on our screens again in 10yrs time. I think it could be reinvented into something much better

Nope. It could for fans, but sooner or later the mass public are gonna see a "BIG BROTHER.. IS BACK!" ad and think "again?".

to be honest i would never want to see big brother uk end...

Same here, we all obviously watch it so why on earth would you want it to end. And i guarantee if it did all the people who wanted it to end would be on this forum saying how gutted they are that it has
I wouldn't. There hasn't been a series good since CBB4. BB7 amazingly bad, CBB5, ruined, BB8 was the worst ever I only watched about half of it (10 times worse than BB4) and it ruined it so much I couldn't face watching BB:CH. It's time to put the show out of its misery.
I've just lost all respect for you lol. BB7 was not 'amazingly bad', it was 'amazingly' good. It was the most talked about series, did great in the ratings and up untill week 10 was must see viewing.

CBB5 is where it lost it, with not 1 of the celebs being recognisable to me.

I challenge you to rewatch BB7's launch on youtube and then come back and still claim this lol.

The contract runs out at the end of 2010, not 2011 (unless it includes the CBB after the last summer series.

Plus ten years from then or now?

It was the most talked about series,
...for all the wrong reasons.

Not until the end. It was talked about long before the bad stuff happened i.e. the fixed golden housemate comp.

How was that fixed?

The show went into a downward slide starting with CBB5, and now I think is BBUK's lowest point. The tabloids aren't bothered with it (however I think that will change in the upcoming weeks), ratings are at their worst and even the fans are wanting it axed.

However it's still a big success, 3m for the 9:00pm slot for C4 is still very, very good. Grand Designs, Location, Location, Location and The F Word are the only other shows that can match that.

Although BB9 is really the make or break series, another bad series in general between now and BB11 and the tabloids will rip it to shreads. And when the contract ends I doubt it will get renewed. So really if it wants a life after 2010, BB needs three good series in a row and with the track record I doubt they could do it, even if the show is revamped this year.

That being said BB is such an internationally famous show, I doubt that it will be gone forever. Like many people said if it is put to rest by C4 after the contract ends, I'm sure another channel will pick it up and update it somewhere down the line.

No. Your missing the point. All of Big Brother 7's press was bad press. Bad press that stemmed from putting nutters in the house. It might have worked at the time , but when Big Brother 8 rolled around , we substituted nutters for blandness.

In fact , BB7 and CBB5 were the two most self destructive series ever. They both hurt the show in the long run.
