The world is always ending.

That date would be quite convenient though, wouldn't have to bother doing Christmas shopping

It was also supposed to end October 2006.

People who do this are just nasty.

Why cant we just live our lives without wandering when were going to die?

I disagree. I think it's the other way around.

Most come from scientists - but the ones that make the news come from Philosophers and Biblical Theologians.

this one is not primaraly from science though. and the ones from scientists are slightly less fear tacticish in nature so you dont hear about them as much. most of what we hear comes from religious thought and mythology

I see where you're both coming from.
I agree with Mark in that it's horrible finding out different dates for when the World is going to end and in actual fact has no point to it. It's going to end sometimes, so why would we need to know the date?

But, I agree with Very_Nayce in that it's some peoples occupations to do so, and maybe prevent it happening sooner than later.

The ones I disagree with come from people like Mayans who are "new age" philosophers, deciding the end of the World is when the Sun hits a particular point in the sky. It's these that usually make the media and scare monger people - and I believe these are the ones that cause the most problems.

sorry but i still see it as being silly to chip in your argument then refuse to defend it later but each to their own

thanks for accepting both our opinions

At least I'll have done my graduation. Oh, and I won't have to get old. As _Tom_ said, the world is always ending. The world could end tomorrow for all we know. You can't pinpoint the end of life as we know it. I won't deny that we're changing the earth for the worse, though.
