Are you mad? they were trying to get him in the car, and by his own admission he looks very young! Not that it matters what age he is? You must be very young/naieve if you dont see the severity of what happened

Telling the police will hopefully prevent them doing this in the future

And you think some strangers telling him to get in the car is normal? I don't think it's a waste of time at all by possibly preventing such a thing from happening. If the police treated all cases like this as "a waste of time" then these people would be free to do as they wished and god knows what state the country would be in.

I am sure the police have many avenues they can explore. Patrolling the area keeping an eye out for any suspicious behaviour would be a start.

Yes I told them, they took my details and I told them what I could remember then and they said they will contact me shortly.
Its not the first case reported lately like this and they are taking it seriously.

Well I am glad you called them. If it is not the first case reported it is obviously a very serious matter.

a similar thing happened to me whe i was about 12
i was walking down some quiet road at about 6:30 (Baring in mind this was winter so it was almost dark and then this black car came up beside me and this man came out the car and said 'get in and ill give you a lift home' i said 'no thanks i just live round the corner' which was a lie. So then he said get in the car now!' so i ran for my life and he was still following me so i went to this house which was not mine so i pretended it was so he would go away so i knocked on the door to make him go away and he quickly ran off. The person who answered the door i just explained what happened and my mum phoned the police and they came round the next day and just asked me if i could explain what he looked like and if knew his car plate number.
so i know how your feeling

Spike I am glad to hear you've contacted the police, they could keep an eye out for anything happening and perhaps inform the public so maybe someone less naive than you can be informed about it and perhaps prevent them getting in the car and being the new news story.
