Wait a sec she was saying she was going to leave for ages it not something that has happened overnight. Earlier in the show she asked to leave.

What it says about the show is the Big Brother house is a hard place to live in. It's not like she is the first housemate to walk.

Thats what most of them do. Case in point our OP right here. They hear or read something on the lying newspapers, and they go and complain, without even hearing the facts, and it just spirals out of control. Its a horrible habit, that most people have (not Markus Btw, he aint complaining). But it ends up killing TV. I lived in the US, and over there people loved watching shows from the UK, because they seem free and less regulated. But now, its fastly becoming like the US shows because of people complaining about every little thing.
Chances are there are more then a few grains of truth in the newspaper's stories otherwise C4 and endemol could bend them over a barrel and screw them for Libel. I hate complaining but I can see what Bradley is saying. They SHOULD have shown Foolio's behavior with warnings or soemthing attached but they'd never do that as foolio's they're favourite.

Seems like the apologists for the assholes polluting the airwaves have the most to say on here!

Also they insult anyone who has the temerity to complain about said assholes.

As I said elsewhere some people would defend "snuff" movies!

The fact is, they showed it all on the Live feed, and it was nothing but people horsing around late at night, with all them laughing. It would be stupid to put that on Highlights, as there were way more interesting stuff to show tonight. And the OP, I can guarantee you, didnt watch anything. How do you get off complaining about that? Thats ridiculous.
ANd if Coolio actually did something really bad, they would either show it on the highlights and reprimand him, or not show it at all.

Anyway according to the Daily Star it Wednesdays show that was the problem:

Quote:
16th January 2009

FURIOUS fans have accused Celebrity Big Brother bosses of “double standards” for not giving bullying Coolio the boot.

Telly watchdog Ofcom launched an official investigation yesterday after viewers complained about the rapper’s relentless intimidation of housemates.

They are furious the American star has not been kicked out over claims of verbal attacks and threats of violence – after the Daily Star revealed the true extent of his aggressive behaviour in a shock report.

Last night a spokesman for Ofcom said: “I can confirm we have had complaints about Wednesday night’s show over issues concerning Coolio. We will be investigating.”
Source: Daily Star

So it was nothing to do with what happened last night.

All this is, the Daily Star had their star page 3 girl on the show, and it gives them an opportunity to quote her, obviously they tell her what to say. And use that to mount a campaign, to sell papers. Its that simple. The fact that they quoted Lucy Pinder as evicted housemate, even though she was still in the house, just shows, how truthful her quotes are. And she is not gonna deny them.

To be scrupulously Fair, Foolio DOES get away with murder, is BB scared of his Gangsta image or do they think they're on a winner this time.

Will Ch 4 buy his "cookery" program?

Agreed he does get away with a lot in the house and I'm no fan of the man, but he does bring something into the house which shakes it up with out dated attitude. But without characters like him and Tina who left the show tonight the show would be boring and dull.

Can you imagine how dull any of the soaps would be if all the Characters got on, and just said nice things to each other all the time?

Drama comes from conflict without conflict there is no drama.... just boredom.

All this complaining to Ofcom is just from fans of the show who take it super-seriously and view Ofcom as just another way to 'vote out' a housemate.

Best idea in this thread, from Redmoon, lets take it in the spirit of the complining and complain about Ofcom

I can believe that. The complaints and the stories like this probably started on another site like this one and some member sold the story to the Daily Star after complaining to Ofcom for Ł200.

That was the going rate a few years ago, when someone here made up a story and sold it to the Daily Star.

worked out well for Manuel though...he's been brought back into the limelight

people need to complain only if they have seen something for themselves, not just from reading about it in a newspaper...or even
an official transcript...remember written words are nothing like spoken words...everything is about context and intent.

there have been many fallout's on forums due to someone making a sarcastic comment which without the verbal sounds loses the initial intent...therefore people get the wrong idea, and take offense.

Coolio has done nothing wrong from what I have seen so far, though I cannot comment on this situation as I missed tonights show...and last nights LF.

Please do not tell people what I have done or not done, especially when you are wrong. By all means give your point of view, but do not make assumptions on others. I, like others here saw it and agreed, about the previous night's pawing and there have been several other occassions on the h/ls where he behaved in this manner as well.

The simple truth is no one should be allowed to touch anyone else and invade their personal space, if that person doesnt want them to. To defend that is wrong. And what a coincidence after that happened, she left the next night after not being voted out. I find the defence of actions by a sexist homophobic idiot depressing and shows that this country int as progressive as I thought it was. Joking or not is no defence once its been established that the behaviour wasnt acceptable to the person or people it was targetted to. Its not for the "joker" (sic) to decide, its for the person who the "joke" is at, to decide

indeed she did and the fact is that the previous night wasnt the first time he has behaved this way to her. She obviously had enough, that coupled with the other reasons as well and the fact she wasnt voted out. But have no doubt that the way Foolio has behaved and the lack of censure by BB has been a factor. When you are in a place when you cant escape within there, there is only one other course of action, to leave. people forget that in there there is nowhere to get away from the constant abuse and the fact that BB seem to do nothing means that some will leave

do they though? Personally I think these types of people ruin these shows every time and thats why the ratings are falling each year.

I'm no fan of Terry, but I do feel he and people like him would feel the role you are looking for without being boring but at the same time not be aggressive and ruin the show like Tina and Foolio do, and all the other loud mouth bullies in the past.

Let me point out one thing. I wasnt saying I was going to complain, I have never complained to a body or the station ever (just complain on forums....lol). My point was this is exactly why people end up complaining

They think that people will ignore it just like they hoped with Jade 2 years ago. But now they know it will be out there and people who know will feel justified in ringing Ofcom to complain again. And if Mutya walks a she says she will there will be more evidence of how BB is trying to ignore the problem.

If BB want Ofcom to stop getting involved, they need to stop trying to pretend that things that did happen, didnt.

I look forward to the report in 2 months time when we finally get to see every thing Foolio no doubt did and then have C4 and Endemol chiefs claiming, AGAIN, that they have learnt from their mistakes
Ofcom should be outlawed. Mommy and daddy government needs to be abolished once and for all.

Don't like it? Don't watch it!

I love how they say that they are "investigating," like it's murder.
