Someone I know had this.

Herpes Simplex is not HERPES. NOT AN STI. Lemme repeat that. NOT AN STI. It can be transferred by kissing, yes - but it's NOT AN STI.

It's the coldsore virus. Yes that's right, that tiny little spot thing you sometimes get on your lip is herpes simplex. It's nothing to do with STI's. It's not an STI. Babies can have herpes simplex. The only time it is dangerous is if the person with the herpes simplex gives oral sex to someone with a cut on their dick, and then they have sex with you. And seriously, who'd do that.

However; even if they did the dirty downstairs deed with herpes simplex, it still doesn't transfer as an STI. The virus needs to mutate from the simple virus complex, to something much more sinister. It's advised not to risk it, but it doesn't mean she's "infected" or whatever.

Infact, I'd say about 80% of people on this forum have herpes simplex. Sometimes it stays dormant, sometimes it is active (i.e. you get cold sores).
