I was quite glad to see none of you knew this, because at least I can rest easy knowing none have you have been involved in a pyramid scheme.



Yes, the way this works is that 1 person, the "captain", finds two "co-pilots", who each find two "crew" (making 4), who each find two "passengers" (making 8). Each passenger gives Ł5'000 to the person who recruited them, which all goes to the captain, who leaves the scheme with Ł40'000. Then, each co-pilot becomes a captain, each crew member a co-pilot, and each passenger a crew member. The pyramid splits into 2, and each requires 8 new passengers.

All of that doesn't matter though, what matters is that Marc got a legitimate point!
