I dunno, I don't think they'd radically change the gameplay since it wouldn't be a smart move to do considering the fanbase. Maybe they'd add a few dungeons or something? possibly even a secret way to bring back Aeris? I dunno.

I think they'd add something like that but I don't think they'd change the core game.

A Final Fantasy can survive for a long time, it doesnt depend on canon, meaning, as long as they can think of stories, it will live

Maybe they'd drop the numbers after a while and just have subtitles? They do with some games. I doubt very much they'd stop making new final fantasy games because the number might sound ridicolous. They'd never live on spin offs either there's only so many you can do for a game before it turns sour. I think Final Fantasy's gonna go on for years to come it's one of the most profitable game series ever, why stop it when it makes millions per game?

Undoubtedly.

If it does end I don't think it will be for a long while yet, it's lasted 20 years and i can see another 20 in it easily.

However I really do think the only chance that FF has of ending if Square ever went out of business but then since it's such a lucrative franchise another company would undoubtedly pick it up.
