Everton are gonna go one of two ways next season.

They'll either do a Leicester and blow everybody away by how much they've improved, or they'll do an Aston Villa and just keep sliding down the table until they're eventually relegated.

The future looks rosey.

Barkley and Stones are only gonna get better and if we can hold on to Lukaku, And sign a top keeper (that has to be the main target in the summer)then the spine of the team is set for years to come.

And this will help

Not if we don't sell them, they're under contract.

And with a new billionaire owner that wants to invest in the club, then I can't see it happening. We're now a buying club, not a selling one.

We may have to win the cup for Martinez to keep his job, but even then it might not help him, it will depend on if there's anybody else who fits the bill out there who would take the job.

If we win the cup, then I would keep him personally. But disgruntled fans voices may see him go, after all it's there money that's wanted, and sadly the business side comes before the football side.

What has happened to John Stones.

Last season he practically had Mourinho offering sexual favours for a transfer to Chelsea. He had the likes of Gerrard Pique praising his ball playing defedner style and Iniesta going on about how he's the future of defending. Now he's gone so crap. What's going on? Downing tools to oust Martinez?

Feel for Martinez, he seems like a nice guy but his level was Wigan. It's like he landed the dream big club job at Everton job and is desperately clinging on for dear life knowing once he's sacked the next place is the job centre.

I cringe when he makes OTT statements about the ability of his players eg Ross Barkley is better than Xavi, Messi isnt fit to wipe Lukaku's boots, Leighton Banes is the envy of Real Madrid etc.

Stones has been in and out with little niggling injury's all season and hasn't been able to get the continuity in his game, and he makes a few mistakes, but which young player doesn't, it's about him learning from mistakes and he's still shown bits of quality in there, so with a better run in the team, the consistent form will come.

He's still far too good and talented to leave out the Euro squad, and is sure to be going this summer.

Looking at the team of the year I still find something to have a pop at Arsene Wenger about . He said at the beginning of the season the reason why he bought no one was because 'no one was available', his words. Alli, Payet, Kante, Alderweireld all in their first seasons at their clubs so werent all of them available?

Martinez back to old OTT praise tricks again.

Quote:
Martinez's permanent positivity is his trademark - but to maintain it, even exaggerate it, during this dreadful campaign has led to widespread criticism and mockery from Everton's fans, although the pathetic nature of the capitulation at Anfield was no laughing matter.

He wisely admitted the "embarrassment" of Anfield but has too often talked in glowing terms about performances that have left fans questioning whether they have attended the same game.

The Catalan's consistent use of the word "phenomenal" to describe routine events is now a stick with which he is regularly beaten, along with lines such as expressing his "incredible, incredible satisfaction" with a goalless draw at Crystal Palace.

To be fair that comment was mostly aimed at all of these world-class strikers the fans are baying for, specifically Benzema but also the likes of Lewandowski, Aubameyang, etc. He was saying it was impossible to convince the likes of Dortmund, Real, Bayern to sell their star striker even though he had the money.

To think if he hadn't insulted Liverpool with the Ł1 add-on we could've feasibly got Suarez... how different would we have been

I completely agree but to be brutally honest, I dont think 60 million pound players are gonna want to play for Arsenal. If Gareth Bale heard Arsenal were interested I doubt he'd be too enthused. The way Benzema dismissed the deal as out of the question was telling for me.

That comment from Wenger completely alienated me simply cuz it cannot possibly be true. Its was such an idiotic thing to say and the way the season has gone he in this position of playing to a half full stadium due to his own mistakes.

That's true. I understand the scouting method we use is drastically different to ten years ago now as well (with the new chairman - the old one seemed a lot more hands on).

Don't worry Arsenal are about to steal (yet again) from Leicester. They took head of technical recruitment Ben Wigglesworth (9 months after Spurs stole the previous one) now they are about to nick LCFC's Chief Scout Steve Walsh and will take Mahrez, Kante and kid Chilwell with them. Arsenal...so full of original ideas

Leicester should have sent some of their youngesters out on loan to mid table la liga, ligue 1, and bundesliga teams. So they had more options next season as they will lose up to about 6 players (Schmeichel, Kante, Mahrez, Chilwell, Fuchs and even Drinkwater have all been linked with big money moves. This will be Ranieri and cos biggest mistake. Sir Alex and co were always planning for next season at the beginning of a season. Ranieri is really short termist. He also seems to like old psst it players. First Ronaldinho, now Roma's Totti (39), stupid stupid if true.
