How about Elvis Costello- I want you. You can feel the pain, bitterness, hate and then hopelesness build through the song.

Neil Young always admired The Beatles but I've never heard of anyone having the balls to cover any of their songs in front of an audience of thousands -sorry millions, particularly one as famous as A Day in the Life.

<object width="560" height="340"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/yrF77T5gbIc&hl=en&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/yrF77T5gbIc&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="560" height="340"></embed></object>

That's what I love about Young - he's always taking big risks and this clip is evidence of the fact that even after all this time and a major health scare a couple of years ago, he's still able to rock with the best of them. The mans a force of nature.

Yeah I know, it's all about the music for him. Doesn't compromise his art. I admire him in many ways.

he has not beaten his 70's work yet although he's not been as bad as he was in the 80's and some of his albums from the 90's have been slightly over rated

Well you're talking to a huge fan here so while I agree that some of the 80's stuff was quite poor, I still find alot of stuff worth listening to again and, as always, he continued to play things his way. For him the journey towards great music is just as important as the creation of a great album, you kno? He's completely invested on the path he follows and I'll always admire that about him, even if it means he'll release the odd clanger. He's actually just as proud of the records that some perceive as being bad.... there's no ego involved really.

I enjoy his 90's stuff.
He's producing really good music now that's still contemporary. Should watch Jonathan Demme's live concert. Magic stuff.
