Malt Whiskey isn't a brand..it's a type there's loads and loads of them though. Would you recognise the name if you heard it? If not you're going to have to come back and work your way through them all!

Anything from Islay will give you the smoke/peat/iodine hit Joe..........but a tad expensive - Lagavulin, Ardbeg, Caol Isla, Laphroig. Bowmore is about bottom of the list but available probably in Yorkie supermarkets. Port Ellen is the most expensive and what I collect (distillery closed) and my most expensive one is a 1971 worth a bit over a grand.

Tell me what you were drinking on your Scottish sojourn that you enjoyed and I can probably think of an equivalent from a different area like Highlands or Lowlands malts. Isle of Jura I think you'd probably like.

Whisky is one of my specialist subjects

Cheers, will have to check them out There was just something about that smokey after taste I loved, felt like it gave you a kick lol

And I drank a load of the local bitters as well. Can't really remember their names, although I did end up in the same pub Robbie Burns used to drink in

No, I haven't actually... I've never really visited the borders, only driven through them.

Incidentally, my friend saw Nessie a few weeks ago (I'm being serious)
