I think calling Boone the greatest Lost character is a big exaggeration given the fact he didn't even have an individual story arc or even last one season.
And it always amused me how I preferred and found every female character (except for Claire) a lot more interesting than Kate who had the second highest number of centric episodes behind Jack. Just thought there was a lot of unnecessary repetition with her story.

well them 3 arn't my favourite, there my top girls, but Hurley is No.1, then Sawyer, then Kate, then Sayid, Locke, Desmond, Eko, Shannon, Claire.

Locke would have never went to the hatch the night Boone died and they would have all died right there on the island of starvation and diseases but Boone's death saved them all therefore he is the greatest lost character ever

But if we were to get really technical, lol then the island or Jacob or some other force is what got them to the hatch. Boone didn't find it, he was lead there. Just like Charlie's death, Juliet's death, Daniel's death, Michael's death. They all died after they were "used" to fulfil something.

im not being mean but Boone was kinda boring, most girls just like him because of his looks, but storyline wise he didnt do much apart from find the hatch with locke or try to be a hero but fail (failed trying to save Joanna, failed when on stakeout for the others)

I'll always remember Boone for the "Have you got a pen?" run around the beach.

Boone was a very good sidekick, but that's it.
