Rebecca Ferguson has admitted that living in the X Factor house was "intense".

The Liverpudlian singer, who signed a joint deal with Syco and Epic after coming second in the last series of the ITV1 competition, was asked about reports that she and Cher Lloyd did not get on during their time on the show.

Ferguson told Star magazine: "I'm not going to lie, me and Cher weren't the best of friends on the show. I think people - including myself - have grown up now, though."

She continued: "It was so intense back then. We were all away from our families. On the tour, though, Cher and Katie [Waissel] were lovely and I can promise you I didn't witness one tantrum."

Asked if anything specific had triggered a falling out, Ferguson said: "Nothing actually happened. Me and Cher never argued, we just weren't the best of friends. We get on well now, though, and I think she's going to do really well."

The 24-year-old added: "Some of the stuff in the press was not true. You have certain people you are close to and certain people you're not, but on the tour we were really close - me, Cher and Katie."

Press claiming that more Hip Hop and urban acts etc are auditioning this year, about time X-Factor featured other styles of music as the cheesy pop is tiresome.

Rebecca is the classy one with huge album sales potential. Katie will obviously flop as she doesnt have a decent fanbase. Nothing cool about that.

I think long term Cher has the more potential but Rebecca will do well, just as long as 1D are a distant memory.
