I just wanted to clarify a few things as there seems to be some confusion about the letter I wrote to Richard. First off, my mum is in recovery and shame on those people that said she was dying!! Second, we wrote the letter thinking Richard would receive it in private. He didn't want the public or housemates to know about her cancer because he feared people would perceive the information negatively and it's a private family matter.
Put yourself in his position. Being gone for 12 weeks and not knowing how your mum is feeling? Why wouldn't I mention her recovery in the letter, it's the only thing he’s been concerned about and I felt it was the most important information.
We wanted to keep this information out of the press but unfortunately, it was leaked and sold to the press on two separate occasions. The matter is still very private and I don't feel the need to discuss it any further.
I could tell Richard was concerned about my mum and I wanted him to enjoy his birthday and the rest of however much time he has in the house.
Thanks for your understanding and your constant support.

Sorry, but I'm not buying this for one moment. Are you seriously trying to tell us that Endemol allowed a private letter giving specific details of an appalling illness to be read out without yours and the rest of the family's approval? (If they did something like that to me, I would sue !) Didn't Endemol contact you to ask if it was OK to broadcast the transcript of the letter? If you knew that there was the possiblity that a letter from you might be read out at some stage of the week (and this was heavily signposted for days as a reward), why didn't you contact Endemol to make sure that the letter you are referring to was pulled?
Why have any reference to specific details of her illness in it at all? Why couldn't there have been a letter couched in general terms (e.g. Mum is well), without going into detail? Why, if Richard was so concerned about this becoming an issue didn't he immediately storm the Diary Room and complain?
