Gina obviously believed her boyfriend and the twins mum and therefore got ultra paranoid about Charlie.
If I was in her position and my boyfriend came on screen and told me that my supposed friend Charlie was sly and manipulative and went so far as to actually nominate her for it, and I also saw the twins (who she seems to be friends with) mum say she talks behinds backs and call her a 'player' I have to admit I would be paranoid as feck too and would also be speculating for ages trying my best to figure out why my boyfriend called her sly and manipulative. Hazel said first that Charlie had told her "don't start showing emotions" and this is what made an already paranoid Gina go "hang on a second, she was saying to me and Sophie that the public seem to like you more because of showing emotion, and she's then telling you to not show any emotion - therefore she must not want the public to like you" a logical enough conclusion to come to I think from the little that got said in that conversation. It wasn't clarified that Charlie had said something more along the lines of that it would look strange if Hazel suddenly changed her personality. Hazel also said last night that Charlie had not talked to her again about it, when Charlie actually had talked to her about it in the treehouse which we got shown. This surprised Gina and Sophie too because Charlie had told them she was going to talk to Hazel and then Hazel said she hadn't. Of course Gina and Sophie were going to think that Charlie was playing them or being manipulative after hearing everything being described in these words by Hazel about Charlie! I don't see the huge amount of stirring that Gina is supposed to have done. All she did was tell Hazel that Charlie had been saying that the public liked Hazel more because she was showing emotion, and that Charlie said she wasn't sure she could trust Hazel because of this showing emotion. Gina only said this in response to Hazel saying that Charlie had told her that she "shouldn't start showing emotions" and that she "shouldn't be friends with Gina" and Hazel saying this had shocked Gina and made her think Charlie was gameplaying. Hazel then made out to Gina and Sophie that Charlie had told her to campaign against Dexter in the task because Charlie felt sorry for Callum and had said would she not be campaigning against the one she calls the evil one, she later said similar to Dexter that Charlie had kept feeling sorry for Callum and tried to put the idea in her head to not campaign against Callum - the flashback tonight showed Hazel being the one feeling sorry for Callum and considering not campaigning him. They were all drinking, there was a lot of paranoia in the atmosphere, and in my opinion they were all in the wrong in some way. Charlie was wrong to go around saying that she wasn't sure she could trust Hazel to Sophie and Gina before she went to Hazel and talked about it. That was two faced and I guess could also easily be construed as gameplaying of some sort. Hazel had every right to be angry about that. I specifically remember Sophie saying to Charlie, "you need to go and speak with Hazel about this, otherwise it's going to come across as two-faced" Hazel was wrong to act like she was so surprised by what Charlie had said, when Charlie had already talked to her about it in the tree house. Fair enough be angry that Charlie spoke to Gina and Sophie, but don't pretend like Charlie never spoke to you to try and explain why she said what she did about the showing emotions, and also don't lie about what words Charlie said - she didn't say you shouldn't show emotion, she said that she questioned if she had being showing emotion because Dexter had told her that is what the public wanted. She had already explained to Hazel that it was because Dexter had just said that and after 7 weeks of no emotion Hazel had suddenly become emotional so that the timing is what made her question it. Hazel made it sound as though Charlie just said, "you shouldn't show emotion", she also made out that Charlie said " you shouldn't be friendly with Gina" - Charlie says that what she said was that it would look fake if she suddenly started being friendly with someone who she had always disliked and bitched about. I don't know who is telling the truth there. [I also think Charlie was wrong for questioning Hazel showing emotion in the first place. Despite Charlie's reasoning for her doubts, it was still imo wrong to question a friend for being emotional after they had a really horrible week, felt hated by the entire public and just got letter from home etc. Very insensitive of her.] I don't think Gina should of said anything about Charlie to Hazel. I can see why she did because she was so suspicious and paranoid and was trying to suss out and get to the bottom of things - but I think she should have just spoke to Charlie about it alone. Gina was also imo wrong to keep going on about the words "sly" and "manipulative", and to keep saying "mum's never lie" etc. I also think Gina was wrong to say to Charlie, "well you clearly don't want me and Hazel to be friends" - they do a pretty good job of being enemies all by themselves so that shouldn't be pushed onto Charlie. Gina was also wrong to get involved in the pack mentality thing and should imo have stepped away from it. Again though I can sort of see how they all got sucked into it. Charlie bitched behind Hazel's back. Hazel lied and twisted some of what Charlie said. Gina spoke about Charlie to Hazel and was a bit too dramatic about the whole "sly" "manipulative" thing. etc. They all did something wrong imo. I don't think it's fair though to say that Gina was the only one just sitting there stirring causing the whole thing. At least she actually gave Charlie several chances to speak and explain herself, and said that she was glad to see her defending and standing up for herself. Alcohol and paranoia are not a good mixture. I think some lies were told and words twisted - whether this was intentional or not I cannot be sure. This was always going to lead to a huge argument. I think they will all move on from it soon. Sorry for mega long post, don't expect many to even bother reading it but I just wanted to type my thoughts on the matter. Going to bed now. ![]() |

I like her but Gina came off really bad last night. Closely followed by Hazel.

Hazel, but was disappointed with gina too. Felt that Charlie was being picked on. They had all heard hard things in Noms but the ones with the biggest mouths picked up on stuff and made a huge thing out of it. I agreed with what Charlie's friend said and it wasn't Charlie's fault. She is naive and definitely misunderstood. I just wanted to give her a hug. Time for hazel to go.

They were all equally bad in their own unique ways. That was a really bad highlights show.

I think Gina genuinely believed something was amiss with Charlie, and that's why she went after her. Hazel is a horrible, manipulative person, and thinks nothing of targeting the person she believes is weakest in the house, much like Dexter. Hazel is possibly worse though. So yeah, Hazel is definitely the worse of the two. I hope she's voted out this week.
Also, I don't think Charlie was wrong to question Hazel's motives. She should have followed through with her thoughts though, and told Hazel to get lost. Charlie is way too trusting. She was a fool to try to talk to Hazel about her "feelings." I knew it was a mistake when I watched it yesterday. Last edited by jlenoconel; 07-08-2013 at 08:36 AM. |
