Metallica are absolutely hysterical. I'm tempted to watch it on the off chance that the BBC cameras cut to hoards of people booing, chucking their Fosters in to the air, and sodding off. The people who are at the stage are there to enjoy it though do fair dues. Everybody else will be off doing something better.

Pixies sounding very well and Arcade Fire were great. Far away from their best performances though. A lot of the Reflektor stuff is boring live and Win looks like a raccoon. I love pomp and pretension as much as the next guy - it's kind of my thing - but they've clearly gone off their rockers. The crowds are all subdued as well because of the crap weather which is a shame.

I'm seeing Arcade Fire and Pixies tomorrow night in Marlay Park. A fact I've bragged about to Lucas. Can't wait!

Watching sound checks on the web stream is oddly engrossing. Kind of like how I loved watching Big Brother live when absolutely nothing was happening.

Gotta laugh at BBC 2 billed as Metallica live and have Goldfrapp and whoever this is on before. Why are Metallica even giving this shower of ****e gathering of hippies the time of day?

They're awful people. The Some Kind Of Monster movie is a great watch. It's like Spinal Tap but real.

They definitely have anthems but it's all a bit hurgh gurgh. I find it hard to take them seriously. Which is weird because I'll go off and listen to something like Cradle Of Filth or Mortiis or something and be like "it's just them" but Metallica suck.

They're too American. Americans have a tough time getting away with this. From Scandinavia? Rock on, Sven.

Glastonbury's a monument to decadent youth. You're doing that thing where you think it's the seventies again.

You're watching Goldfrapp because Lars is needling over the particulars of how much they're getting paid for this and they aren't on the stage yet.

Is Pixies going to be on TV at any point or is it an I player job?

I was really surprised by how much Lana Del Rey has come on since she first surfaced. She used to be atrocious live, like too shy to lift her head up and would mumble her way through songs. She was great today, much better stage presence and performances in general.

Kelis was great earlier also. Missed Angel Haze though

Nobody has topped HAIM for me yet. Just incredible.

I imagine they'll make highlights for sure. Probably later on tonight.

Black Francis aint even that drunk. They're sounding tight. But jangly at the same time. Not Kim Deal is very nice.

I think in another few years when they build up their catalog, they could headline.

Literally downloading Metallica albums as we speak. I've always kind of liked a few songs but their set has just got me so pumped!
