We have free speech, what we don't have is the allowance for racists and bigots to freely spew their bile and i am more than okay with that, I'm sure 90% of the world is okay with that.

No, I believe in free speech, but only when it's not insulting to others or minorities, that's just nasty. There's a difference.

Because they thought they should ,for what reason i dont know, i can only speak from experience ,When i was small I lived on a 100% white street,black people and asian people were hardly over here then ...... then 2 black families moved in ,then an asian family EVERYONE got on with everyone ,why can't it be like that now? because people are sick of being told what they can say and not say ,my daughter was called white trash at school by a mixed race child ,when i complained i was told it wasn't racist !!

Ah Chuff come on, people don't campaign to change things if everything is just fine and no one is upset, that makes no sense at all. Maybe where you lived was the exception to the rule but you've just heard here from a black person an account of what his father went through and someone else posted a link about how black people still were expected to stand up for a white person on buses in the 50's so clearly it was very much an issue, one that you didn't see obviously

I do recall my father telling me about how he was gonna kill this guy at work in the 60's cuz the guy had been winding him up all day. The concept of my mild mannered dad actually killing someone is something I cannot get my head around so this guy must have really wound him up get him in such a state. Your recollections are not what I remember or my family remember.

Imo freedom of speech does'nt exist as long as laws exist.For example you can't legally threaten somebody.I think the whole concept of freedom of speech is a myth.There is always a limit to what one can say.
