i remember being told at primary school that “blue is for boys and pink is for girls.” In addition to this, the word “gay” was banned, no matter what context it was used in. I’m 25, so this is probably going back around 2000-2002, which is actually quite a long time ago thinking about it.

not too long ago, the school had an assembly where a female firefighter, a male nurse and a policewoman came in to try and tackle gender stereotypes in the workplace and I think it worked. I would also say that I am also an example of fighting gender stereotypes in the workplace to an extent because previously, male primary school teachers/teaching assistants were almost unheard of, whereas there are increasingly more and more men taking on the job, which I think is fantastic. I was never taught by a man until secondary school, but I think that equality is so important
I think gender stereotypes are worse today than when I was a kid actually. Even ****ing kider eggs are 'gendered' . Pink princess ones for girls, blue monster/superhero ones for boys. My kids get both tbh, and my husband whinges a bit when I bring my son in with the princess ones (though oddly enough doesn't really say anything when I get my daughter the blue one)..and when I let him put my daughters Elsa dress on and that..but I reckon, kids are ****ing kids. Kids like dress up. Boys like pretty things and sometimes girls like to get dirty. If my boy wants to wear a princess dres, whats the bloody harm

Oh please enough of pushing the gender stuff now they were doing so well why try and push the envelope by putting in a bunch of kids?

Please don't tell me it's the billionaire babies from that new channel 5 show. I heart kids they are hilarious and very honest...BRUTALLY HONEST!....this could be genius or a dulling down as housemates for the next few episodes will have to "act" again in a very formal way which could be very boring.

im sure parents out there put their annoying children to bed and just want to watch people of their own age? Sorry channel 5 just stopped you enjoying your glass...or bottle of wine and me time.

The role type tasks have all been cringey, so i don't have high hopes this will be any better. I can just imagine Ann giving a kid a swipe if they are misbehaving

Dapper laughs to be ejected after telling a child they’re gagging for a nappy change?

Lets see if Dapper can drag himself away from Ashley whilst the 'kids are in town'.....this task must be made for him...with 9 kids he should be the most experienced ..

Unless he's just good at making them rather than interacting.

I said nothing at all about him at all He sat in the priority seat bit on the bus while she was in her pram so he was opposite her and she literally pointed right at him and spoke pretty loudly. I did apologize but thats when he said all was fine and started talking to her about boys liking wearing makeup and such. I assume from what he said that he is the right pronoun for him though...as surely he wouldn't be talking bout himself as a boy who likes to wear makeup if he was trans. I am not sure though as as I said, still not sure if he was trans, just feminine or a drag queen Have to admit though, glad he was on about challenging stereotypes, rather than trying to tell her he has a female brain or something...not sure how I would have handled that :S So I guess I was lucky in that respect

You arnt getting what im saying...even now you're calling that person he and him and probably don't even know you're doing it. Not your fault and you shouldn't be made to feel bad about it either it's just how you feel instinctively about trans women.

You aren't comfortable with calling someone who wasn't born female she....am I wrong?

I do agree that kids can form their own opinion and if someone looks particularly like a man in a dress ofcourse they will comment and as awkward as it is they speak their mind....ive been in the situation with my brother cmoment ing on someone's appearence on a train once and it's mortifying.

But that's what's make kids great I suppose lol.

But I don't know if he is actually trans, or is just a feminine guy who likes stereotypically womens clothing, or a drag queen (granted he would be a less..brash...drag queen if thats what he was) He did not clarify this. And given he was on about boys liking to wear makeup, that does sound to me like he is the correct pronoun to use anyway

I use preferred pronouns generally. My issue with India was that as she was going on constantly about being male, so I was ****ing up on pronouns. So was attempting to not **** up by using entirely gender neutral pronouns. After our talk the other day though I did try with she, and only messed up twice which wasn't as bad as I thought I actually didn't realise people would find gender neutral pronouns quite so offensive. My brain had such a disconnect with India...

Thank god that this isn't happening on the BBC.

Yes I made a below the belt comment, but they're the best jokes.
