Well I'm shocked I expected him to get off tbh... 2 rapes is laughable but better than getting away with none due to his money!

Weinstein, 67, was found guilty of criminal sex act in the first degree for forcing oral sex on the former Project Runway production assistant Miriam Haley in 2006, a count which carries a minimum prison sentence of five years and a maximum of up to 25 years.
The count of rape also convicted Weinstein of rape in the third degree on another woman. That count carries a sentence of up to four years in prison. https://www.theguardian.com/film/liv...t-live-updates |

In a just world, that kind of buying your way out of consequences for your crimes would be illegal.

said after Bill O' Reilly was sacked from FoxNewsHD the Me too group moved onto the Movie Git. One Lady he Raped said she had no choice to get him in Court as he made sure she could never work in the Film Industry. As a Movie Produce he had big power. Deny, Defend, Depose.

This isn't the end for him, it's the beginning. LA is up next and they will have more witnesses, and put him at risk of tougher sentencing than whatever is handed to him after this verdict. He's dying in prison.

Could never have happened without Trump beating Hillary. Had Hillary have won, Weinstein would still be the King of Hollywood.

....hmmmmm, I’m thinking his sentence may be much longer...one of the counts he was found guilty of brings a maximum penalty of 25yrs imprisonment...

I'm glad that
a) he was found guilty b) and that it actually took them some time to come to that verdict. It is the right one, but no-one should be found guilty based on the court of social media and hearsay.

I wonder when the poisonous Hollywood studio system will just die tbh. Leave making movies to indies, small studios, and the Old Hats.

I don't think it's fair to judge them. The system is very much broken when it comes to rape cases most of the time, the victims are put on trial as much as the accused and the rate of conviction is very low. It's a lot of pain to go through just to potentially see your abuser get off scot free.
For victims of rape and abuse, Civil cases and outcomes are the best they can hope for sometimes. |
