My point being that these people would be far less inclined to be pro-terrorist if they had to spend time with an actual terrorist group.

And thankfully as the IRA are no more, the nearest punishment to them would be ISIS.

And back on topic, Mikael Forssell helped cement my support for the club when he was only a few goals off Henry & Shearer for the Golden Boot.

You have it the wrong way round. Isis believes in the caliphate; an invading force that wants to rule regions rather than countries. The English are closer to Isis when it comes to "the troubles."

Oh don't get me wrong I know that we have our own terrorist actions over the years.

I just don't understand any community that celebrates terrorism, and I don't think that I ever will.

Rangers FC. My Dad was a fan (but not a really huge fan) and a lot of my friends at school were.

Also growing up was the nine-in-a-row era which helps.

If we were invaded by another country, we'd be doing exactly the same, and we're also supporting Ukraine doing exactly the same things now. Terrorism is an extremely selective descriptor.

The IRA ended up attacking some of their own people though.

I mean I understand where you're coming from, and I get England wasn't exactly upstanding ourselves during the IRA times.

I just do think that people celebrating a group killing innocent civilians is just a bit odd.

As an English person, our nationalities don't matter. Did I say anything historically inaccurate? Did I say that all Irish people support the IRA?

Fcuk off with your snide sh1t.

Tbf I understand that it was (and to some extent still is) a complex situation and relationship between England and Ireland, and I could understand it if an Irish person has issues with our Government and England in general because of the history between both countries.

I personally just don't get why anyone would celebrate innocent civilians dying? It's like how I've never understood the Americans romanticized version of Nuclear Bombing Japan.

Mock, its like you say, its history, 25 years of peace in NI and 90% of people would say job done, they just want to live their lives, anyone who wants to start up that crap again has no idea or do now want to acknowledge what these people lived through, for me personally if it was a choice between a United Ireland and a peaceful Ireland I know where my choice would be

No one was talking about starting that crap up again. Someone () was specifically talking about "the troubles."

Argue against what was said, and stop making sh1t up.

My old school teacher was Andy Roxburgh so I supported Falkirk. At that time the Falkirk forward line was Roxburgh and Alex Ferguson, so when i moved down south to work in Manchester the logical choice was to support Man U. It should be noted that at that time, they were a pretty crap team

Slim having an opinion on the IRA and ISIS, used as an excuse by a petty fcuking snide to make sh1t up in an attempt to air out personal grievances. Nothing Slim said has been argued against by anyone other than Mock, so lets argue about what we wish he'd said instead.

Cherie, when I told you I didn't want anything to do with you, you pm'd me to say you knew I was decent. So all this BS is just made up for some weird reason.

I honestly never meant to start an argument between Slim & Cherie on the thread.

I made a flippant comment that turned into a debate (which is perfectly fine) but I don't want members getting personal with each other over it.

I apologize for derailing the thread.

Fortuna Sittard, because we have a very decent club history, have delivered our fair share of decent later on international top players like Mark van Bommel, Fernando Ricksen (Fernando gone way too soon of that horrible ALS illness )

we had Bert van Marwijk as a coach here, father-in-law of Van Bommel btw

but also cult icons like Ronald Hamming, Joost Volmer

and have sympathy for them, from near bankruptcy to being saved by a turkish owner and getting back to highest level, and showing more ambitions again to remain competing on the highest level but also showing entertaining attractive football to the fans

another rising star we got currently is Tijjani Noslin, could've gone to Millwall for 2 million but he said no, he is scouted by former international Wesley Sneijder fun fact

also supertalented goalkeeper in Ivor Pandur, very trustworthy, most saves of the league next to AZ's Matthew Ryan this season so far
