Do you know what I’m pretty much over this reboot now

I remember when there was talk of moving the show from C4 to ITV back in the day I always thought it’d be a terrible idea because they love censoring the mildest of content to appease their audience, and here we are, sixteen years on, where they’re consistently censoring a *live stream* not just for the usual legal reasons, but to retain content for the highlights show. It’s a fundamental misunderstanding of both the format and the upsides of what a live feed can do for traffic

Censoring this argument is pathetic. Putting bird noise over sexual conversations (as they have done) is pathetic. And what’s more pathetic is, they’ll ditch the crumbs they’re giving us next year likely saying “nobody watched”, because everyone’s switching off the bird noise that’s why

Some people are never satisfied. I'm enjoying this series as much as I have done any other series, it's infinitely better than the crap C5 put out with so many twists and turns that broke the rules it got absolutely ridiculous. ITV have made a great start and I'm just grateful we've got it back because I rather this than f all. It you don't like it find the off switch and use it.

Think it will be better if Dylan an Paul are out I think we will see the true colours of the rest of the HM. ..... although I am sick of the triangle getting more air time than anything else.

Yes it would be nice to see how they all get on when the poison has been removed

Though I feel they will fiddle the votes to keep Paul in .. hoping he will kick off again and boost the viewing numbers

Reminds me of what people used to say in the early C5 days, and look how that turned out…as you’ve just explained. Is this better than C5’s start? Sure. Have there been certain things slipping into C5 territory? Yes. Pre-taped back door evictions, bending nomination threshold rules, and manufactured drama-provoking tasks. Needless commercial music on the edit too, but I can put up with that.

They’ve got some things right, I’ve enjoyed parts of it, but my post was precisely about censoring a three hour live feed for an argument that turned out to be…nothing. That’s simply not good enough, if you’re happy to lick their balls be my guest but I’ll call it out when I see fit

…hey, hey Jack……it’s lovely to see you, I thought of you the other day and thought it can’t be that BB season started without Jack being here…and here you are……I’m not completely on board with the manufactured feel either…that there is possibly much scripted drama …and that the highlight shows are not always matching up with the live feed …and also the editing of it to create the hero and villain, maybe…rather than the more organic BB that so many of us became fans of…I just fear that BB will be something that will become ‘lost in a crowd’ quite quickly if it’s path is going to be more a ‘staged’ one…but in TV in general, with many series and not just reality TV…(..I don’t think…)…that things have the same shelf life as back in the day…there is just so much choice etc and TV world has moved on etc…so that short shelf life, if that’s the path it’s taken/taking…would happen anyway…so living in the here and now of our BB return and the nostalgia of the ‘buzz’…plus seeing a new audience for it is ok …tomorrow is another day…I can’t think of any other reality show that creates as many talking points/as much fan energy etc as BB does…whether that builds or burns out quickly, I don’t know…but I’m just going to enjoy the here and now of it….

That's a rather novel way of escaping eviction.

Meanwhile.

Manchester United are still trying to understand the meaning of the term "kick-off."

I wodner if the show will get extended or something. Maybe cancel eviction and BBLL and just have a longer main show.

I think BB pushed the housemates too far this week, it surprised me to see them making Trish answer a question that would stir the pot even further, and they seemingly gave the house alcohol tonight when tensions are high

BB5 fight night all over again , but atleast with that we actually saw what was happening. It seems BB is hiding drama this year .

BB has clearly wanted something to happen... so has definitely forced this tension , the whole Yinrun party with extra alcohol... and the button task with Trish.

In cooking terms, it's as though BB were making a very weak soup, and so to spice things up a little, they poured petrol in it and then threw in a Molotov cocktail.

They can never get the balance right , this will just annoy alot of fans the way they've handled things . I bet BB will get axed again and then another channel will buy it again .

My thoughts exactly

Trish in particular has been put through the mill this week and will need a lot of flaming
counselling - even after that little fracas with her naming Tom she went away from the others to lie down !!

BB know what they are doing building it up for the ITV 1 show tomorrow. In the hope everyone will turn on to see what happened. Sadly if they continue to show the live feed the way they do they will have people switching off not tuning in.
