Because the media have sensationalised it - it's been sold to us as a story, not a personal tragedy (which it is).

It's simple - if she doesn't want to be mocked for it, she deals with it in private. By choosing not too she's opened herself up to be mocked, and frankly as she's stated she wants to die the way she's lived, she's probably quite happy to be mocked.

I have been a fan of Jade since day one and I`m pretty sure that most of the people expressing there disgust at the comments are too or at least they have the decency to realise that despite the fact Jade may have done wrong in the past in some peoples eyes that it is still sick to find these comments in any way funny.
Actually I do not 'have to admit' that the gags raise a chuckle,because they don`t,anyone who finds any of these jokes remotely funny must have a lame sense of humour and need to get out more I`m afraid.

She can do whatever she bloody wants, still doesn't condone you people to make fun of her dying. I didn't realise there was a rule that meant everyone had to die quietly and privately...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Jade has stated that there are two reasons why she has made her cancer so public.

1) To increase awareness of the cancer and make sure women start taking tests to check for the cancer earlier on.

2) To raise money for her children and their education. The OK! deal and every bit of money she can make whilst she is alive goes to them.

I do agree that it has become a handful, with her being in the press almost every day and updates almost every hour from her agent, but it's still a woman on the verge of death and mocking her isn't something people should be doing.

OK, it's pretty clear I'm no fan of Jade Goody and unlike others, haven't decided the fact she's dying should mean I need to be, but from her various exploits over the years she's always been quite self depreciating and self aware, however dumb she may be at times - and I'm sure I've even seen quotes from herself regarding the situation basically taking the p**s out of it. It's tough for her of course, but far better to have a laugh at it (occassionally) than to cry.


Some people might not like it and that's their prerogative, but jokes have always been aimed at the dead and the dying, however distasteful some might see them.

Sick humour is what its called. Noone laughs at it light heartedly, its more of a shocked laugh. No matter if you're a fan or not, no matter who its aimed at its still not nice.

Imagine you was related to someone who had terminal cancer in the public eye and someone made those jokes. Would you still be finding it funny then?

Exactly! And as she CLEARLY stated she is doing it in public for the sake of her kids! She wants to make sure she can provide for them the best way she can when she is not around! And good luck to her, why waste the oppotunity if shes gettin money for it?!

Why do they have to be in the public eye? Normal people have cancer too you know - and that's the issue with the saturation of Jade coverage. Unfortunately it's all too common, much like the sense of humour failure around here caused by a lack of perspective.

People will always be different to others, some will laugh some will find it upsetting and it will annoy some just because of the coverage.

Well normal people probably won't be subject to those kind of "jokes" purely because they aren't in the public eye. Love how you avoided the question though.

I'm not condoning the personal attacks on Jade Goody and wouldn't "wish death" upon anyone. Go to any live stand-up gig, and often material such as Princess Diana, 9/11, Madeleine McCann etc are used for laughs.
