Cheers Kazanne, I only started doing pencil portrait sketching again recently, was inspired by this thread actually...usually I only do pen sketching for fashion design and they are on A3 storyboards so too big to scan

I like your watercolours, I'm not good at painting...I always cheat and use Caran d'ache water soluble colour pencils and then wipe over with a wet paintbrush.. Do you use oils on canvas at all?

♥ I like it a lot LemonJam and you're right it's much harder to draw when the photo doesn't have a lot of definition, I always try and exaggerate the darker areas with heavy shading...but it's mostly just guesswork...

I just attempted Pete Doherty but I'm not too happy with it, don't think I got it quite right. It was in his younger days but he still looks too fresh faced for my liking...any suggestions?

I think it's fantastic Maybe play with heavier shading if you want it a bit grittier? (idk, I'm the novice!)

Cheers ...yeah..I tried heavier shading but it still don't look quite right, I think I got the features a little wrong. I think it's a lot easier drawing people with real distintive features. I may try Anthony Kiedis next...Look forward to your next picture if you decide to post another one LemonJam
