CLAIRE RICHARDS: I'M NOT A BARBIE DOLL LIKE HEIDI
LAIRE Richards has fought a long and well-publicised battle with her weight and at last she’s ready to defeat her critics.
Claire hit headlines in recent years for her yo-yo weight but says she doesn’t care about negative comments anymore, as she isn’t harming anybody over her size.
“I've had enough. I’m so sick of people having a go at me because I’m not a size 10 anymore, it just such a waste of everyone’s time,” she said.
The curvy pop star has defiantly declared that she’s actually an average size in the UK, which currently stands at a size 16.
Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, Claire said that her recent stint on Celebrity Big Brother, in which she came fourth, left her with a positive outlook on her image.
Asked if she enjoyed her time in the CBB house, the blonde 35-year-old cautiously says she did, before quickly adding “but I’m very glad it’s over.”
“It proved to me that I can cope well under pressure and in a stressful situation.”
“I was lucky that I had a really good bunch of people apart from a certain few, so it wasn’t completely unbearable.”
Speaking about her housemates, Claire said Heidi Montag – who famously had ten surgical operations in one day back in 2010 – was the opposite of her with regards to her attitude on appearance.
“Heidi has got a Barbie doll image,” she said.
“I found her and Spencer very difficult to get on with, they were very confusing to be around.”
“I’m thankful I don’t have to deal with them anymore.”
Nevertheless, Claire adds that her time in the CBB house has left her feeling stronger and more confident than ever.
When you do that kind of show it’s survival of the fittest and it’s very easy to crack up, so I feel proud of myself that I’ve come out unaffected.”
“I feel that if I can do that, I can deal with any situation.”
Claire and her CBB best friend Rylan Clarke are now so close that Rylan has said he’d been keen for Claire to carry his future child, should he and a future partner decide to start a family.
However, Claire laughed off the idea saying “that’s never going to happen.”
“I don’t get to keep the baby at the end, so there’s no way I’m going through pregnancy for nothing, I don’t do pregnancy well.”
