Personally I think it was a very close call as to whether she would be jailed or not. Human nature works in funny ways and I reckon she got the jail sentence because the judge took it very personally that Paris arrived 10 minutes late, showing utter contempt for the law. I only watched the simple life for the first time the other day and I did find her somewhat disrespectful towards people. Her lawyer told her that there was no chance of jail so she treated like a walk in the park. I wonder what will happen on appeal ?

I hope they make an example of her on appeal.

Why should she not go to prison to serve her time? Like has just be said she has showed utter contempt for the law and her money position or her fans shouldn't save her from her fate.

When a "Very Famous Celebrity" ends up in jail, it is always headline news and Paris Hilton is a Celebrity which we hear about often.

I personally haven't paid any attention to her past or present, so I can't comment on that opinion, J.C.

But I do agree that Celebrities should be treated the same as Joe public and are not above the law. The only two things that successful and wealthy Celebrities have on their side, is:-

1) The money to pay for the top lawyers

2) Their Celebrity status

That doesn't wash with me. "So What!!!" (Guilty is Guilty) a (Crime is a Crime) shove a guilty woman in Jail, if they are guilty. That is the true facts!!

Naturally Paris Hilton is going to appeal. The last thing she wants is to be stuck in Jail with ordinary criminals. It can be dangerous She could get beaten up or some inmate might try to come on to her, who knows??

Whether she has a strong case to appeal, only she and her lawyer shall know.

I certainly haven't been following any of this, so I can't comment on any part, except the fact that we should all be treated equally and if Paris has been sentanced for that crime, then it is equality, (this time)

Putting that to one side, "for a second".

Paris Hilton is a very popular Celebrity to many, many people. Including quite a few on this forum.

A lot of people will consider this whole experience that Paris is going through to be terrible and unjustified!! Many consider this Celebrity as being innocent. and as I don't pay attention to her personally, then, maybe she has been given an unfair deal in the long run.

But to her many fans on this forum and elsewhere, You should stick to your beliefs and support the Celebrity "Paris Hilton", as she is obviously in a mess right now and there is nothing wrong with "true passions". Don't back down!!

I only take issue, with the fact that crimes that are commited by Celebrities, shouldn't be treated any less than, "you or me".

Why is she more imporrtant than anyone ese. I belive if you commit a crime you should get sent to Jail and Just ecuse she is a "Celebrty" (Although i wouldn call her that) dioest mean sheshoud get specia treatent she comitted crime so she should do th time ;wink:
