No Nicky

[From 1 April 2020, a standard TV Licence costs £157.50
and we offer a choice of payment methods to suit you.
You can pay in one go, or spread the cost with
a range of Direct Debit options or a

You could pay less for your licence.
Find out if you could get a discount.

I keep getting 'threatening letters' informing me if I own a device that has the potential to connect to live TV, I need a license. Erm, nope, thats not how it works dears. But do try to turn up and tell me you have the right to come into my house again though, that was fun last time.

Anyone thinking of stopping paying this..all you need to do is NOT sign anything they turn up at your door with. I fell for it once, never again. I signed a consent form that gave them permission to take me to court. The duty solicitor said basically, if you don't sign that, they cannot prosecute.

Am not saying it so those who enjoy bbc/live tv avoid the fee. But for anyone who uses netflix and stuff..do not be bullied into paying this by any 'if your device RECEIVES live tv you need one'...no. They have to prove that you are watching it, you do not have to pay incase you might.

Oh, thy also cannot forcefully enter your home to 'check your tv'. They say they have this power, and will often try (a friend got a broken wrist, from tv license people trying to force their way in), but they do NOT unless a copper is with them..which is hugely unlikely...in my experience, they will bully and lie their way into getting you into trouble any way they can, even if you actually do not watch any live stuff.

Thats not the same though, if people actually do not watch live tv? Am not advocating for people who do have live tv to do this, but so many only watch catchup and that now that..it needs to be said :S

It's just nothing that's worth £14.50 a month, ridiculous. I reckon about... £7 a month would be reasonable, so half that.
