Think it's starting to dawn on people that there is no difference between the 2 main parties.

Obviously labour; basically copying everything the tories have done, but just promising to destroy the island in a more competent way and with a smile on their faces.

it wouldn't surprise me at all if there was an extremely low turnout at the next election, and then it's anyones guess who will win

They found hundreds of billions - HUNDREDS of billions - for Covid. They can spend money if they want to spend money, it's that simple. It's not like a personal bank account, there isn't a literal "amount of money" that can run out. They have political reasons for not wanting to do so, but if they thought schools were important enough to spend billions on, they could spend billions on them.

Of Course, TS
but we all know they will not.

I even wonder if that head teacher
will get her money back for the rental
of those Temp Hire Cabins.

Question

Is it not the responsibility of the schools governors to look after their own schools estate? Why did they not know about this just like a roof leak etc?

If 7 out of 10 of them were on the ball with it and a few weren't then you could put that down to individual failings. If none of them were aware of it and on the ball with it, that's a systemic failure, not a fail in individual governance.

I guess to keep it in school terms: if 25% of a class fails a test, then that 25% is struggling and messed up the test.

If the whole class fails the test then someone ****ed up with the teaching.

its the responsibility of the local council, same as they are responsible for the safety of every other building in their district. I said earlier, its the council that sends inspectors out to approve building plans and materials. I can understand a cut in government funding stopping repairs etc happening, but standard inspections should catch whether a building is habitable or not, and that is the council

BBC News Text:
[The Daily Mirror leads with comments from
Education Secretary Gillian Keegan,
who said on Tuesday that she met children
in one school affected by crumbling concrete
and they "actually preferred
[being taught in a portacabin] to the classroom".
The paper points out that it comes as the number of
schools hit by the issue grows to 174.
