I've fallen in love with Skunk Anansie again, I dunno if you'd say they were alternative (They were pretty big in the 90's) but I think they're amazing. They were one of me favourite bands as a kid. I hope they regroup oneday since they're amazing.

Ooh, more Death Cab fans.

I'm since '01 though. (By accident because I was looking at their record label for 'They Might Be Giants' and found them!).

The Smiths, anyone?

Bit old, and not completely unknown but I never see their name thrown around anymore.

I wouldn't say The Smiths are non-mainstream. Although I was talking to someone the other day who had never heard of the Blues Brothers or The Clash.

"Not completely unknown"? I would say they are very well known. They are iconic.

I meant in comparison with the forum [perhaps I should've worded that better]. I feel more discussion about them would happen in here, than a single 'The Smiths' thread.

&Ross, I love Lisa's voice, not keen on the song. &Scott's kinda catchyy. Might listen to him more..

I get you. I love The Smiths. One of my favourites is "There is a light that never goes out".

There are loads of songs I love by them. I am getting round to buying the new compilation "The Sound Of The Smiths". There is a 2 disc version with rare b-sides, live stuff and demos on the second disc.
