Once you beat him though the bosses aren't so difficult from what I can tell.

Train good, train hard. Sentinel's your best friend. It's a tough place to get used to but fight the yellow robots in cave area as they give loads of CP and good components. It gets easier.

As is the answer for the next few bosses, Sentinel is your best friend. Treat him kindly, don't neglect him or blow him off when he wants to hang out. What I did was start of with a Sab/Sab/Medic and use a few spell chains to build up a guage and then I switched to a Rav/Sen/Rav (or Commando) to build up the chain guage, if you need to heal switch to a Med/Sen/Commando.

He killed me once or twice but he's quite easy once you get used to his attacks and such.

Hers is a toughie, have you been training up? I didn't really carry on with the story until my character's roles were LV4. Making a start on the L'Cie missions is also a good idea. Like I said to Yuna the first cave's a good place to train as the monsters die quickly, just keep running inbetween the two save points and you'll build up a whole load of CP and get a few useful components for upgrading weapons.

As for Vanille's Summon, I started off with two Saboteurs and used them to build up the bar a bit since they can do it quite well. I also had a Paradigm with a Medic and a Commando for building up the bar with chain guage and the healing effect (healing yourself builds up the summon bar as does using saboteur skills). If you are taking a beating remember to use Sentinel to take the heat away from Vanille and remember that Renew can heal your team completely.
