Bad ratings. 1.42m excl +1.
![]() I think people are just not interested in the regular series any more. Pantsgate got 2.8m (3.1m officially), it's clear people want celebs. |

I think we can see it's going the same way as BB12, so long as it beats that I think it's safe. If drama in the house picks up and the evictions don't tank like with BB12 then I think it can improve.
Fingers crossed anyway. |

But over a 1.5 million viewers (from the Launch "peak" of 3m) failed to return for a second day's viewing - that's nothing to do with promotion, celebrity or overkill, surely ?

I just think they should have promoted the launch better. More viewers for launch, more people hang on. The launch was good I thought, but it dragged on.

The "reach" for this year's Launch was, apparently, 5m, so 2m viewers took a look and then watched (or did) something else. |

I think it will pick up.
Alot of people may have not watched last night as the first half hour was basically repeated footage from launch and the whole Deana nominating thing was dragged out way to long again. Yes its bad but i expected it. Think it will average about the same as last year. |

Big Brother took its usual post-launch plunge on Channel 5, drawing 1.42m (8%) at 10pm for its first highlights show. Big Brother's Bit on the Side followed with 612k (6.2%). Not overly impressive, considering last night's successes but it always takes a plunge after the launch. These ratings are typical. The fact that we have Lydia being a total bitch surely hasn't helped, either.

+1 added an extra 100k, so 1.52m.

Bitchiness in terms of being an annoying little plonker who almost sobs like a baby when might get nominated for eviction tomorrow. There are 3 people who face eviction and only one of them can get evicted, so there's only a 33.33333...% chance she'll actually get evicted...although following the last night's events she probably has more of a chance. Not mathematically speaking, but logically/socially.

The only good thing to say about that rating is that it beats pretty much every HL show of BB12 (only evictions sometimes beat it). It's on after Marco Pierre White's show which has been quite heavily promoted. Hopefully it increases from the 1.5m.

Clutching straws? Don't you stick that crap on me. Perhaps people want to watch 3-dimensional characters on the television, rather than characters who think constant moaning is entertainment. I refer you to the first sentence of my last post and if you can't understand that then there really is no point continuing this debate with you.

Excluding +1 it was at 1.44m. So the +1 could actually round it up to 1.6m. MPW launched with a very poor 860k despite all the promotion.

Pleased that it increased. That Marco Pierre White show was so Boring!! I thought I'd give it a chance because of all the adverts but switched off after 15 mins. Not surprised it tanked.
They really should put BB on at 9pm every night. If they did it would increase C5's primetime shares and would get BB higher ratings. |
