Lol at your memory. I'll hold for your opinion on Young doing more in 10mins than your boyfriend too.

We were embarrassed in midfield for me. Devoid of ideas. Had more of the ball in the second half but each time Chelsea won it back they looked a threat.

Really hope we sign a creative midfielder this summer.

Young did okay when he came on. I'm not a big fan but he played a big part in RVP's miss. And a great cross to RVP in the box which he headed over.

How can this be the case when you had Carrick in midfield? The greatest midfielder in the world, apparently, and one of the greatest of all time.

Touche.

Unfortunately, we have four midfield players, and only Carrick was able to make any good passes.

We need an assistant coach just as much as an attacking mid TBH Ryan. Fergie for however great he is , is utterly inept tactically as show AGAIN today there is a reason when Carlos was here we were most dominant

Did not know Mata,Oscar or Hazard were playing until about 20 mins to go when he got tired after playing 3 games in 6 days. Would love you to tell me 3 players better in his postion???

Amazing tactics against Madrid though.

Our weakest area has been midfield for a long time now. I like Cleverley but, Wilshere makes him look **** at times. Lacks the confidence to really take the game to the opposition unlike Wilshere.. Desperate for a creative midfielder this summer. If we can get a good one, and Valencia gets back to how he was I think we'll do fine.

TBH most of my anger is towards RVP. Players like Young and Tony are just average joes so not to much should be expected. However we PAID big money for RVP to score us the big goals yet has failed BADLY this year and there is no getting away from this.

Happily. Just tell me where you place him in midfield - be it Def Mid or Centre Mid.

Yes the tactics were spot on vs Madrid Ryan but for every Madrid game there is a Rome 09 , Eithad 12 and Stamford Bridge game like today

Valencia has only had one bad season though.

And RVP has been on a barron run unfortunately. However, without him, 15 points ahead would of been a pipe dream.

Tbh, lot's of teams would of been embarrassed on that night in Rome. Totally outclassed, not that we really turned up.

Due to how bad our midfield is Michael plays both roles so can't be placed into just one category however I will allow you to start with the DM role

Busquets, Alonso & Mascherano.

Carrick is heinously overrated. I'm not saying this as a Liverpool fan, as I'm pretty fair tbh. Keane was an absolute beast of a player.

Carrick is ok as long as he gets loads of time on the ball, deny him that and he's awful.

Alonso & Mascherano So both are better then Carrick yet could not win the league with the best spine in the league at the time including the best Striker in the world at the time and with Stevie Me the midfielder most consider to be the best on the last 5 years INTERDASTING. Did you not see the Madrid vs United games this year

Was Alonso even playing??? All I saw was Michael dominating the midfield by himself

As for Busquets LOOOOOOOOOL the guy plays behind Xavi and Iniesta in a team that has 70% possession would love to see him play beside Giggs in a 2man midfield. Simply put he couldn't

That Liverpool team was too focused down the centre, because that's where our strengths lie. Look at it this way, take Ronaldo out of your team that season (because he was clearly the small difference between the teams), then Alonso would have had his medal.

Our midfield took the piss that year, beating you and Chelsea home and away. We didn't drop points because our midfield had too much control, we dropped points because we were average at best in the wide positions. When our plan a wasn't working, we were a bit screwed. When yours wasn't, you had Tevez, Ronaldo, Or Rooney to pull something out the bag.

I promise you, Carrick is a really average player.
