I've always thought it was silly that posts in C&G don't count because a post is still a post regardless of what it contains. As others have pointed out, there are many useless posts in other sections too. However, another forum that I used to go on also didn't count chat posts so I've never really questioned it too much.

If they really care about the quality of posts they should get rid of post count and add a "Thanks" button to posts. I don't see why leaving out an important part of the forum is so important to them.
