I will give you one thing I liked about Richard though. The whole 'plastics' mean girls reference was quite funny and very on point. Grace as Regina, Imogen as Gretchen and Nikki as the one who couldn't remember her name..

Richard's just a huge hypocrite. Like with the Plastics, HE gave them that nickname and started the crusade against them. And it was disgusting how he crawled up Grace's ass when she got voted back in by some minuscule percentage because he figured that she had to be popular. Desperate and disingenuous.

ALSO the most offensive thing of it all was his treatment of Michael. The Only Gay In The Village is never a good look on anyone. Three strikes and you're out.

So true about Michael. I detested how he tried to make Michael what he wanted Michael to be, just because he was a younger gay man. It was incredibly insensitive and then when he claimed he was the 'only gay in the village' as a result. I was fuming haha.

It's the same reason that I could never get behind Brian Dowling. Social politics between two gay guys are almost never interesting to watch because of people's insecurities with gender and sexuality and whatnot.

I admit Richard was a bitch He was very petty and played a lot of the housemates off of each other, and I don't really admire that, but what I did like about him (admittedly I haven't rewatched BB7) at the time was his tackling of the plastics - a truly vapid, inane group of tedious bitches - and his friendship with Lea. He seemed to be one of the more emotionally upfront and honest housemates of the series, whereas Grace/Nikki were willing to just assassinate any character trait. I mean, Nikki's calling him a 'fat ox', in amongst all of the transphobic comments about Sam, put me firmly in his 'group' I suppose. It was a very cliquey BB in hindsight wasn't it? I just think that, whilst imperfect, he'd have been the housemate of the series I'd have got on with the most (most in common, I guess) and - I know you like her but - Imogen really was annoying in the most futile sense of the word.

Fair, fair that makes sense to me. I agree about the cliquey nature of the series too.. but then again maybe that's what ended up making it one of the best ones ever. It was so entertaining to watch.. even good old Imogen
