I've never heard of using ice cubes. Just ice cold water. It puts them in a sleep and then you put them in a freezer and they just die.

I throw them in the bin. I don't mess about with all that bollocks. I've never had to put a fish out of its misery, (I look after my fish ) when they die I find them floating.

My dad once boiled tropical fish because he set the temperature too high. It was horrific. There was just pieces of fish floating about the tank

My friend's mum put the tank on top of her tumble dryer whilst she was cleaning up and the vibrations killed them.
