Whilst some of those pics are quite evidently photoshopped in some cases (some to the extreme), not all of them are comparing the same photo. Models can look slightly thinner or fatter (is that the correct word - I don't think so but it is the opposite of thinner), depending on the angle they are photographed on. And you know what, some of the girls in the real photos are way too thin in them, never mind the fake ones! I personally value my life more than this and would rather be large and healthy than thin and malnourished and destroying my health & body.

The fake pictures aren't the issue. I don't care whether the pics are real or fake. If you had read through my posts you would find that the pictures posted are neither here nor there. The issue I have is with women who starve themself to become a size they clearly aren't naturally meant to be.

I also have an issue with the fashion industry encouraging this behaviour, and turning a blind eye to those who suffer and sometimes die because of it.

I am not angry at being proved wrong, because I never stated that I was certain the pics were real. So, if that's your argument, then it's pretty flimsy.

You openly state that you find models who are rake thin with protruding bones to be attractive, when clearly they are ill. This is why I suggest you are pro-ana. You also imply that it's ok for women to get to size zero with no regard for the impact they have on their health. If I have misconstrued your remarks, then I apologise, but I have to say that is how you have come across in many posts.

As for the mob mentality accusations, again, I think you will find if you read through any of my posts, that I don't go with the flow and agree with everyone else in the thread. I have my own opinions and whether the majority agree or disagree doesn't influence me at all.

Gemma - just so you know - the post that was removed because it was written by a banned user. We are having real issues with this user so sadly the only person you thought was an advocate of what you say has no posting rights!

I am trying hard to understand why you are so rude in the way you address other members when discussing this issue, you give the impression that you are sitting there going "there stamps feet" when writing your reponses.

I really couldnt give a monkey's chuff whether the photos are fake, like Linda I worry about the whole size zero culture and the impact it may have on "my" children! As a parent I wouldnt be normal not to worry. I dont want my children to look like skeletons, or like they need to be on a drip.

I have a very athletic teenager who always takes into consideration what she eats which makes me hyper alert! I make sure she always eats a balanced diet to give her the energy she needs to allow her to carry on with the sports that she so loves.

Gemma, I worry you're the deluded one here. You've ignored ALL of our points about many of the models not being a natural size zero and using... lets say 'unconventional' methods to become said size. This then leads to other impressionable young girls doing a similar thing, and this is where the danger occurs and people take up fatal rituals whereby they make themselves sick or starve themselves (and you cannot deny this is the case).

Some people cannot help it, people forget it can be an illness.

Ive been a fan of Nicole Richie for years, when she was definately NOT the thinnest girl in the world.
Magazines were calling her fat and ugly, and I remember an E4 advert for Simple Life described her as 'Paris' un attractive friend'
"Starring the attractive Paris Hilton and Paris' un attractive friend!"
She lost all that weight, and hit a perfect size, but carried on losing the weight!
But at the moment Nicole is still thin, but I think she is beautiful. Saying that, the pictures of her in the blue bikini were disturbing!

The good thing about all of this, is, size 0 models have been banned and its no longer seen as a good thing. Young girls think its sick and dont want to be like it.

I've always thought Nicole was prettier than Paris as well, because Paris to me has strange features. Not that she's ugly, just IMO Nicole's prettier and I'm probably one of the few to think that.
