Is it even needed? Libraries have wifi, and even computers. Shopping centres and plenty of supermarkets and cafes have wifi too.

Those call centres should not have been outsourced abroad in the first place.
So you are saying there are no uk call centres or other staff at any of the broadband providers? Maybe the Indians have developed Glaswegian accents to fool the customer because last time I rang a Virgin call centre I spoke to someone in Glasgow

Well Labour say
many small business folks
are not able to get proper Fibre Broadband

And those in Long away locations
are getting the Free British Broadband
first, that will cost more than
£20Billion, though.

Labour think this a Vote Winner
BT shares have dropped well down,

The Tories pledged, back in September, £5bn to extend gigabit broadband to everyone by 2025.

With their "we're coming after private schools, and the only places you can send your kids are the Labour-approved state schools" nonsense, I'm not sure I'd trust the version of the internet they'd offer.

and needs correcting

Yes... one party is in power and can make a sensible offer , and one is pledging it as an election promise with no idea how they'd pay for it. Still no mention of how they're going to pay for it. Staff costs will rise because they'll be closing down foreign call centres.... if it happens,"if" being the operative word, it would turn into a massive black hole into which public money would be poured.

Well I can understand that. Most of their kids have gone through the private school system... they can afford to close them now. Ask Diane Abbott... vehemently against private schools.... except for her own son, of course.

Some are more equal than others.

with Unions as well, to do the fully costed Manifesto
this weekend.

Now reports that the Conservatives
are not doing there's until the End of November

Are you saying there are no call centres abroad servicing UK ISPs?

And Marsh was right, some of them are in India.
You were saying about Glasgow centre for Virgin. I'm also with Virgin and have had many calls to and from their Indian call centre as well as a Scottish one.

Marsh was also right to single out call centres abroad bc theres no reason to think labour plans would deprive uk centres of work. The nationalised broadband will require customer service too.

I'm shocked this isn't more popular...isn't this akin to the sovereignty and nationalism we wanted with brexit? British owned companies, British jobs for British people?
It's a brexiteers wet dream isn't it...So what's the prob?

Even I? don't be so damn rude!

This were the boot on the other foot be decried as scaremongering. Where is the suggestion that broadband would be controlled any more tightly than it is under private enterprise?

So we dont want British jobs for British people.. or sovereignty, Wasn't brexit based on that principle?

Were they being communists when that was being touted?

We will find out soon
once its in the Labour Manifesto.

And you must understand
having total control over the whole UK internet
(as in the feed from any company will all go Free)
can be Dangerous.
New Terms and Conditions Etc.

Australia wanted this
and Failed to get it done
