It's a cynical tax dodge involving the profits of the book.

Again, bizarre hatred. Hating someone for having a career is ****ing bizarre and quite unhinged. It just makes no sense.

Meghan's uncle talks about her estrangement from HER father....

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/a...s-aged-82.html
09:05, 1 July 2021

Meghan Markle's ex-diplomat uncle Michael has died at the age of 82 without 'ever meeting Prince Harry', it has been reported.

Michael Markle - who was known as Mike and is the older brother of Meghan's father Thomas - had been battling Parkinson's disease and had suffered falls in recent years.
'Mike was a lovely, gentle, softly spoken old man,' a source told The Sun. 'He was always happy to be asked about Meghan, but whenever he spoke to anyone he mainly wanted to talk about his late wife - he loved her so much.'
After his wife passed away, Mike is believed to have moved from his home in Oregon to be closer to his daughter where, despite his illness, he maintained his independence living in a trailer community, according to a source…..

Mike used his influence to secure Meghan a prestigious internship as a junior press officer at the American embassy in Argentina when she was 20 and considering a career in international relations….

'Meghan has climbed socially and left us behind — that's how I feel,' said Mike. 'I think that's what happens when you're 'underclass' and trying to rise above
the reality of your situation.'

Coming from her background, she may have a chip on her shoulder,' he said of Meghan. 'It could be that that's part of the problem she's having with her sister-in-law. Meghan is immature in some ways.
'I feel that because of the way she acts — not only towards family members, but other people.'

He also went on to blame Meghan's father for her strong character.
'It could be that she's bossy towards staff because she's been spoilt by my brother,' Mike said. 'He doted on her a lot — more than he did his other children…..
Mike tried nudging Meghan to reopen communication with her dad when he told the Express in 2020: “Meghan famously said, 'Not many people have asked if I'm OK.’ She would do well in this time of a genuine crisis to ask her dad if he is OK.
"People of my age and Tom's are dying due to the virus. There's nothing wrong with being courteous.

"It's about time she should try to mend any differences she has with family before it is too late. I think that she should be in touch with her dad."

I couldn’t agree more. So much for her book the Bench honouring fathers everywhere.

What does any of this have to do with Meghan becoming a NYT Best Selling author or donating her highly successful book to needy kids?

Yup....she preaches family values but fails to practise what she preaches. It seems very apparent her father did everything for her up until she didnt need him anymore....

Her relationship with her father is nobody's business but their own.

And also: the Daily Mail as a source? Really? in 2021?

It's the Daily Mail in general, LT. And it wouldn't be a novelty for people to make things up from "direct quoting". Just saying.

Not on this occasion.
Family members from her mothers side have spoken in the past of how hurt they were at not being invited to the wedding and not hearing from Meghan since she became a celeb.

Are you implying that her uncle hasn't died? It didn't originate in the DM, its in all the dailys.
Head over to the Britney thread now and tell them her relationship with her father is nobody's business but their own. See you there!

You are confused. When people say "it's no one's business but their own" what they really mean is "we should believe what these people are saying, and not make up our own narrative".

People believe Britney when she talks about her relationship with her family.

People believe Meghan when she talks about her relationship with her family.

There is no contradiction.

Redundant correction Livia; "People believe" doesn't imply "all people believe", just "more than one person believes".

It's only more than one person saying it, right? No confusion.

Yes jet a noun ("people") without a preceding adjective ("some", "all", "many") does not imply any adjective and the meaning can be taken from context.

Welcome to the magical world of high-school grade English I guess . So much to learn and so little time?
