It was a Set up a Union 'Unite' brought bus loads. This was not a Normal Demo. Most Normal People are Working not blocking London's Wood Lane. Last edited by arista; 22-10-2009 at 05:37 PM. |

See I was thinking that and that maybe more people would turn up now if they finished work at 5....also did you see them talking to Rio Ferdinand? He was pretty uncomfortable talking about the whole thing....

The Demo was brought in Bus Loads Union and Students rent a Mob. No He will not get Slaughtered. BNP people are in there asking Qustions. The BBC is trying to play it fair. It is Not Live so anyone that gets up and acts silly is Removed and we will may see that on the Edited version. Last edited by arista; 22-10-2009 at 07:01 PM. |

I really don't get the big deal with this. They're a political party, and no matter how much we disagree with their policies they have just as much right to be there as any other politicians. Ironically the protesters are going to make more people support the BNP; its allover the news so the ratings will be up, and when more people are watching some people are going to be sucked in by the twisted truths to make them sound ordinary.

As for the show - he made some ridiculous comments (the KKK being "non-violent"? jesus.) and generally came across as a conflicted, indecisive and deceitful man, but I disagree with how the proceedings ran out. A lot of the audience and even the panel [Huhne and Straw in particular] were very shouty, kept interrupting and I don't think there was a fair argument. But ultimately this is the kind of unfair and undemocratic situation Mr. Griffin is working so hard to bring about, so just desserts I say.

Nothing in excess

I hate to say it, but most of my fears over the show were confirmed tonight. The style of the panel's arguments was very ad-hominem and aggressive. I found Jack Straw and the Tory shadow minister's contributions particularly poor, compared to Bonnie Greer and Chris Huhne who came across as relatively (but not always) calm and grown-up. The great irony of making scapegoats out of the BNP is that it is a good way of distracting people from the Tories' and NuLab's own use of casually racist remarks towards the muslim community and their use of veils... not forgetting first generation immigrants who are being demonised by the political mainstream. I was also a bit disappointed (although not surprised) that almost every question posed by the audience purely concerned the BNP's motives where other important stories of the week never got a look in... it almost makes you wonder if the Beeb invited him onto the show to bury some bad news.
But, -and it's a big 'but'- Question Time is all about the audience having their say and getting the answers they want, whether the panelists like it or not. The atmosphere got pretty feral, but it's hard to demand good manners from a group of people listening to a man expressing and known to have expressed racially offensive views. I don't know why people are making a point of saying they have the right to free speech. Free speech they are going to use to deny others THERE free speech, my friends. That being said, I could not care less if he was in the BBC studios and would not bother protesting because he would have, and did, end up getting slaughtered anyway.
Yeah. That should tell you something. Knock knock. Oh sorry, I forgot that this is the new and improved BNP. They are not racist. Not like them bloody foreigners. |

Exactly. Sorry, but when your views are wrong, expect constant, staunch opposition. That's just the way the world ****ing works.
