Would these type of comments be allowed? No, I don't think they would...so why do you think yours are? Don't comment on things you have absolutely no understanding of, it's ignorant and in such an insulting manner, rude. Who are you to comment on other people's feelings and preferences and the way they feel about love, sex and attraction? Unless you were lucky, then I'd imagine you'd have some understanding about how it must feel to question yourself, discover yourself and learn to accept yourself as bisexual. Well it's no different for someone who wishes to identify themselves as pansexual. Stop being so insensitive.

There's nothing wrong with enquiring or taking an interest in something. I find sexuality fascinating, but I don't go around with such a narrow-minded, predetermined view and then go and make insulting remarks on things I don't understand. I keep an open-mind. These are people's feelings, have a bit of respect.
Bit of an overreaction, she's bisexual herself, really don't think Caitlin is one for sexuality discriminating

They're basically gender-blind in that sense. Bisexual people would probably draw a line somewhere.
But I'm bisexual and I wouldn't? I just don't see a difference. If that makes small minded/selfish/judgemental (lol) then so be it

Well, the easiest way to look at it is to ask yourself whether your sexual preferences extend to relatively androgynous people, so would you have sex with a transexual, for instance? If the answer is no, you're most likely only bisexual. If your answer is closer to yes, you're probably a pansexual.

Yeah, they're known to be attracted to the soul rather than the body (as one person put it).

Transexual people are still genders though most desire to be male or female, which would just be bi?.. i understand Andryogonous though, as they dont want to be either gender, and are inbetween
so confused

Exactly. Bisexual people only identify themselves as having sexual feelings for the two prominent genders, i.e. male and female. Pansexuals would be attracted to not only the two prominent genders but everyone else in between.

I understand that using the term "in between" may cause controversy, but if it isn't 100% one gender or the other, that's the category under which they'd fit.

Yeah and there's black people that are racist, I don't see your point.

Do you think it's acceptable to call somebody's sexual orientation a way of being 'different' and a 'hipster' label? Oh yeah guyz I'm gunna call maself pansexual cause it's so cool! I'm gonna get so much attention because it's so different and edgy! Never mind how I actually feel...I'm just putting it on! Hahahaahahahaaha!!!

No, these are people's feelings and nobody has the right to question them in such a derogatory manner. Nobody understands anyone's sexuality but their own, and to pass insulting judgements on other people's sexual preferences, identity and feelings about love and attraction, is ignorance personified. I'd expect someone who has, I'd imagine, had struggles with sexuality themselves, to empathise with somebody else in a similar situation, but alas it's not always as simple as that is it. Double standards alert.

Yeah, because you can't. I wouldn't wander into a discussion about wars in the Middle East because I have little understanding of the issue. And in this instance as I alluded to, nobody understands anyone's sexuality but their own, and so to make insulting and insensitive comments about somebody's feelings (feelings they may be struggling with...hello, does that not ring any personal bells?) just makes you look ignorant.

It's not nice when people say bisexuals are greedy or closeted gays, can't make their mind up etc, it can be hurtful to some people. Just think. Doesn't take a lot...

I think of bisexual as a not having a preference when it comes to gender.

The first time I ever heard of pansexual was on this forum. And it seems to me that it hints that bisexuals are in some way discriminating. Pansexuals seem to say that they are the ones who are truly not caring when it comes to gender and that the bisexuals have prejudices.

I've no idea where this assumption of a pansexual vs bisexual war has arisen from as it's nothing like that, "pansexuals" have a right to defend there feelings - that no one else possesses, but themselves. No one's hinting any discrimination from all bisexuals (again stereotyping).
